Round 1 - Aonia Pass - Amateur Race Report

The Amateur racing was intense all weekend as
class after class rolled through the running order.
With great weather and very few delays, wins were
coming and position battles were being waged with
little in the way of a break for racers or spectators
as the action never seemed to end.

Travis
Spader finished off the weekend with an
overall win in the Vet 30+ class on his
Can-Am DS450 ATV at the opening round of
AMA ATV Motocross Series |
Can-am DS450 mounted Travis Spader would be locked
into an epic battle with Merrill Crose and Mike
Barnhart in Vet 30+ with Spader coming out on
top as the racing ended. Spader and Merrill Crose
would be locked in a heated battle in Junior 25+
as well as the Can Am mounted racers swapped positions
and would be joined by Marshall Crose as trio
put on an exciting race from the g ate drop to
the checkered flag. Spader would claim top honors
in Vet 30+ however would be bested by Merrill
in 25+ as Spader had to settle for a solid 2nd.

Brocoto took the win at Aonia Pass MX in
the Super-Mini Class |
The Youth ranks came out swinging here at the
opening round and class after class of the worlds
fastest youth racers took to the track for a weekend
filled with excitement. In Super-Mini (13-15)
it would be Benjamin Brocato coming out on top
after two hard fought motos. Brocato would fight
his way to a moto 1 win over Haedyn Mickelson
(2nd) and Tyler Mack (3rd). In moto 2, Brocato
would be pushed hard by Cole Sepesi and would
finish 2nd after a great and hard charging race
which allowed him the overall win.
The 2012 AMA ATV Motocross Championship heads
to Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tenn.,
for round two of the ten round race series on
