SSI's
#48 Chase Snapp claimed an impressive career
first Moto win by taking over the lead &
pulling away from pack to during the Moto
1 mud race |
Can-Am’s rookie pro Chase Snapp put in an
incredible performance as he took the moto one win,
his first National pro career moto win ever. Snapp
was in second off the start right behind Josh Upperman
and when Upperman made a mistake and went off the
track, Snapp was able to take over the lead and
pull away. Upperman tried to remount a charge, but
Snapp was able to hold him off and take his lead
all the way to the finish line, lapping up to seventh
place before taking the win.
“I can’t thank my mechanic enough.
He has been working hard to get me more power
and it really paid off today. I got a good start
and new I had to with the rain coming down. I
just put my head down and kept going and when
Josh went off the track and I got out front, I
just tried to ride my own race and not make a
mistake,” said Snapp excitedly.

Motoworks'
#48 Chase Snapp charged his way back into
the 2nd spot in Moto 2, but wasn't alone
with #16 Jeremy Lawson & #88 Joel Hetrick
in hot pursuit & by the end of the Moto,
Snapp dropped back to 4th, which was more
than enough to claim a career best 2nd Overall
on the Podium for this Pro Rookie |
For the second moto, Snapp got off to a good
start, but it was slower than moto one and he
had to work his way through a bit of traffic.
Snapp worked his way up to second, but fell back
when Jeremy Lawson came calling. From there Snapp
battled it out with Thomas Brown and would eventually
fall to a fourth place finish. Snapp’s moto
one win, however was good enough to put him in
second overall on the pro podium; his best finish
so far this season.
“I felt good out there and I am really
glad to be on the podium. I fell out of my groove
a little bit in moto two, but I tried to ride
smart and just concentrate on my own race,”
said Snapp, who has a new found confidence that
has him eager for his first overall win.

Ballance
Racing's #84 Thomas Brown held the 3rd spot
from start to finish in sloppy Moto One |
Yamaha/Ballance Racing’s Thomas Brown was
in fifth off the start and made a couple of passes
early in the first lap to make his way into third.
Brown rode a solid race and was unchallenged for
the entire moto, giving him room to relax as he
cruised to a third place finish.
“I got off to a good start in about fifth
and made a couple passes right away. I was really
glad to be up there early because of all that
mud. I hope I can pull off another solid moto
in moto two and be on the podium at the end of
the day,” said Brown.

Yamaha's
#84 Thomas Brown was on the move in Moto
2 as he charged his way past #48 Chase Snapp
to claim the final spot on the Podium with
3rd overall |
In moto two Brown was bar to bar with Josh Upperman
off the line, but Upperman got the upper hand and
Brown would find himself in fourth after getting
shut out on the start. Brown held his position for
one lap before Jeremy Lawson came charging up and
took away his position. Brown would find himself
in fifth place, but rode a solid race and moved
into the number four spot when Joel Hetrick fell
back. Brown then began to battle with Chase Snapp
and took over third three laps before the checkered
flag, giving him third overall on the podium, his
second podium appearance of the season.
“We were close in the holeshot, but Josh
edged me out. I fell back a bit but I charged
hard and came back. I am really glad to be on
the podium today and I have to thank everyone
at Yamaha and Ballance racing for helping me be
up here.”
