PEP's
Josh Upperman challenged John Natalie in
Moto One, but a bad start in Moto 2, sent
Upperman back to a 4th overall on the day |
Baldwin Motorsport’s Josh Upperman was
in second off the start and kept the pressure
on Natalie. Upperman tried to make the pass on
a couple of occasions but could not get around
Natalie in the slick conditions and would take
second.
“I made the best of it. I had a good set
up and that really helped. I tried to take it
to John but it was pretty bad out there,”
Upperman stated.
Unfortunately, Upperman got spun out in moto
two, which sent him to near the back of the pack
eating mud for the entire race. Upperman finished
in just eighth place in the second moto, but it
was good enough to give him fourth overall after
his strong moto one performance.

Yamaha's
Thomas Brown scored a season best 5th Overall
after finishing an impressive 3rd place
in Moto One |
Yamaha/Ballance Racing’s Thomas Brown got
off to a great start in moto one, and held the
third spot to the checkered flag, taking his best
moto finish so far this season. “I came
out in the top five in the start, that was the
first time this year, and I just held on. Everything
worked great and the quad was running strong.
I couldn’t be happier!” Brown said.
The second moto was a little tougher for Brown
as he was in sixth place off the start. Brown
battled back and forth with Harold Goodman for
a good part of the moto before finishing in seventh,
which allowed him to round out the top five, his
best overall finish so far this season.

GBC's Pro
Rookie #969 Travis Moore claimed a career
best 6th Overall
|
Mushin Racing’s Travis Moore was in fourth
off the start and was riding a solid race, but
Jeremy Lawson eventually caught up to Moore and
after a good battle, Moore would fall back to
fifth, taking his best moto finish so far this
season.
In the second moto, Moore got an excellent start
as he was in fourth off the line and was able
to move into third when Harold Goodman fell back.
Moore held his position for several laps before
Jeremy Lawson and Chase Snapp got by. Moore would
end his day with a pair of fifth place finishes
that would put him in sixth overall; his best
pro finish to date.
Can-Am’s Chase Snapp was the fastest qualifying
rookie, but Snapp struggled to round out the top
ten in moto one. Moto two, was a lot better for
the rookie pro as a better start, in sixth enabled
Snapp to chase down Harold Goodman and Travis
Moore to take a fourth place finish, and end his
day in sixth overall.

Houser Racing's
Harold Goodman finished 7th Overall for
a season best
|
Houser Racing’s Harold Goodman proved that
experience is key in the mud as he was able to
come from the back of the pack after locking wheels
with Chad Wienen on the start. Amazingly, Goodman
was the top mover as he gained eight positions
to finish out the moto in seventh place finish..
Goodman got off to great start in moto two, charging
off the line in second behind Natalie, but Goodman
would get hung up in the mud in lap two, which
dropped him back to the sixth spot. Goodman would
remain the sixth spot to the checkered flag to
secure a season best seventh overall.
