AMA ATV MX Nationals
- Red Bud - Pro ATV Race Report
::Continued::
Mushin Racing’s Cody Gibson, who was at
the back of the pack off the start in moto one,
worked his way up to eleventh before crossing
the finish line. Gibson would hang on for a twelfth
place finish in moto two, giving him twelfth overall.
Harold Goodman would go 14-11 for thirteenth
overall with Cody Grant finishing in fourteenth
with 12-13 finishes.
Yamaha’s Thomas Brown was looking solid
early in the first moto, but appeared to have
issues later on and would fall back to finish
in fourteenth. Brown could not seem to catch a
break as he would encounter issues early in moto
two giving him fifteenth overall.
Keith Little would claim thirteenth in moto one
, and he had his quad pulled started in Moto two,
which prompted him to be DSQ for receiving outside
assistance.
Joe Byrd, who has had his fair share of bad luck
this season was absent from round ten due to an
injury sustained at round nine just two weeks
ago, but the former champ plans to be in attendance
at Loretta Lynn’s, his home track, where
he holds more moto wins than any other racer.
Chase Snapp would put a little bit more of a
gap between him and Joel Hetrick in the points
chase as he took the overall win in the Pro-am
production class after a tough battle with Hetrick
in moto two. Hetrick, who took the moto one holeshot,
would have to settle for second with his 1-2 finishes.
Aaron Meyer came on strong in both motos to take
the final spot on the Pro-am Production podium.

In the Women’s class, congratulations go
to Heather Byrd, who wrapped up her seventh consecutive
AMA ATV Motocross Championship after taking a
pair of moto wins. Michelle Natalie would go 2-2
for second overall and Michelle Suciu claimed
a pair of third place finishes taking the final
spot on the Women’s podium.
The final round of the 2010 AMA ATV Motocross
Championships will be heading to the legendary
Loretta Lynn’s Ranch on August 14th –
15th where a new track will greet racers after
flooding damaged a good portion of the facility
just a few weeks ago. The Pro and Pro-am Production
championships will be decided at the final round
with Josh Creamer only needing six points to take
his first ever National Pro Championship, and
with Chase Snapp and Joel Hetrick in a battle
to the end, the competition will be fierce.
