Pleasure
Valley Raceway attracts large crowd of racers
& fans for some of the best racing this
year |
Armagh,
PA – Rockstar
Makita Suzuki’s Dustin Wimmer claimed the
top spot on the podium at round nine of the 2009
AMA ATV Motocross Championship, after a fierce battle
and some of the best racing seen in years.
Pleasure Valley Raceway was the hosting facility
and had made several improvements since last year,
with upgrades to the track, additional parking
and the removal of trees to allow for better spectator
viewing. A little rain fell the day before, but
track conditions were perfect for Sundays’
events and appeared very favorable for Dustin
Wimmer.

AMA
ATV Motocross Racing made its return to
Pleasure Valley Raceway in Armagh, PA
for 2009, and the Cernics Racing crew
have made numerous improvements since
last year by doubling the amount of level
parking and removing hundreds of trees
to provide for improved viewing for spectators
& more improvements are still in the
works for 2010

In Moto one, Wimmer was in third off the line
behind Doug Gust and Joe Byrd. Wimmer quickly
picked off Byrd in the first lap and made the
pass on his teammate in the third lap to take
over the lead. From there, Wimmer was in cruise
control and claimed an easy first moto win.

Suzuki's
Doug Gust grabbed Holeshot with Dustin
Wimmer taking over the lead in lap three
& remained unchallenged for an easy
Moto One Win over Joe Byrd
|
Doug
Gust dropped back to third spot with Kawasaki's
Josh Creamer applying the pressure as the
pair battled to the finish line with Gust
holding off Creamer |
Moto two, however, would be a different story
for the defending champ. Wimmer was second off
the line behind Joe Byrd, followed by Doug Gust
and Kawasaki’s Josh Creamer. From the first
lap on, a huge battle would take place, with Wimmer
and Byrd swapping positions continuously. The
crowd was going wild as the battle intensified
and the end of the race neared.

|
DASA
Racing's Joe Byrd grabbed the Moto 2 Holeshot
followed by Dustin Wimmer, but the battle
for the lead would go down to the wire as
Wimmer & Byrd swapped the lead back
& forth atleast five times, and they
were not alone with Doug Gust & Josh
Creamer also joining in on the mix, which
made for one of the most exciting motos
of racing all year that would end in dramatic
fashion
