- For 2009, Polaris redesigned the
Outlaw 525 IRS, Outlaw 525 S and Outlaw 450
MXR with new, aggressive styling that included
a single headlight, a lowered the center of
gravity, conventional steering and a six-pound
weight reduction. The changes were welcomed
by both customers and editors, and Polaris’
Outlaw line-up for 2010 will remain unchanged
from 2009.

The Outlaw 525 IRS and Outlaw
525 S feature a high performance, 510cc, 4-valve
KTM engine (OHC with roller rocker lever) with
an 11:1 compression ratio and a 39 mm Keihin
FCR-MX carburetor. While the Outlaw 525 S features
a premium straight axle suspension, the Outlaw
525 IRS features Polaris’ exclusive PRO
(Polaris Rider Optimized) IRS system for increased
stability and a smoother ride on the rough trails.
Both models come with 10-inch rims with Maxxis
RAZR Radial tires. The Outlaw 450 MXR features
a high performance 449cc KTM engine, FOX Piggyback
Shox and Maxxis RAZR MX tires. All three bikes
feature a 5-speed transmission with reverse
and hydraulic clutch for smoother engagement
and dual A-arm front suspension
