Warning:
The following machine is not for the timid
of throttle. The Thundercat 1000 is dedicated
to delivering massive amounts of power,
on top of massive amounts of performance.
The 1000 lays claim to the sport’s
largest displacement machine in the industry.
Designed and manufactured
by Arctic Cat, the H2 engine is a V-Twin,
SOHC, liquid cooled, 951cc, Electronic Fuel
Injection (EFI) four stroke, built for massive
torque and serious arm stretching power.
Arctic Cat engineers crafted this torque-tuned
motor for ultimate acceleration. The hemispherical-shaped
heads create more complete, more efficient
combustion for performance-winning power.
Just like the automotive
industry, the EFI delivers consistent performance
in all conditions and temperatures automatically.
Instant cold starting, optimized performance
regardless of elevation or temperature and
better fuel mileage are the biggest benefits
applied to the Thundercat.
Like other Arctic Cat full
size ATVs, the Thundercat features a forward-located
air intake snorkel that reduces engine sound
to the rider while decreasing the chance
for water or dirt ingestion. Likewise, the
Duramatic automatic transmission (with high/low
range), both add versatility and riding
ease in all conditions.
Added flexibility comes
courtesy of the push-button 2wd/4wd system
with an all-new electronic front locking
differential that is controlled via a push-button
rocker switch on the gauge pod. This allows
the rider to switch from rear wheel drive
to limited-slip four-wheel drive or full-time
4wd depending on conditions and desire.
Performance-Tuned
Chassis
The Thundercat H2
powers a performance-tuned chassis that
is agile and durable, but is more accommodating
for a variety of rider sizes. To start with,
the seat has been lowered over an inch,
combined with an equally ergonomic friendly
handlebar design. These changes seem minimal,
but once you sit down, you definitely get
the feeling of riding “In” the
machine instead of “On” it.

The stance and suspension
were race-bred and performance-calibrated
with additional ride-in. What is ride-in?
When you sit on the Thundercat H2, it will
squat roughly 2 inches (depending on rider
size) while maintaining Arctic Cat’s
class leading 11” of ground clearance
and 10” of suspension travel. The
lower ride height and center of gravity
inspire riding confidence in aggressive
cornering and high speed handling. All that
new found horsepower needs to be harnessed,
so the engineering staff, lengthened the
wheelbase by 2” for optimized cornering
and high speed handling.
Other impressive specifications
apply to the aesthetics of the Thundercat.
One can’t help but notice the vibrant
Competition Silver Metallic painted fenders
that can be waxed and buffed. Engine covers
conceal the engine, direct sound away from
the machine and overall improve the sight
lines. The SpeedRack has a slim, body-hugging
appearance with 100/200-lb. rack capacities
front/rear. To cap off the entire package,
the Thundercat H2 is rolling on an all-new
12” aluminum wheel wrapped with aggressive
25” Maxxis 4-Speed tires specifically
designed for the Thundercat.
