Florida Visit with Tim Farr's FRE KTM GNCC ATV
Race Team
Adam McGill & Taylor Kiser
Florida (3/18/2008) - Although
KTM is a new comer to the ATV racing circuit, they
have made every effort to ensure that they have
a successful first season. For starters, having
former ATV national motocross champion Tim Farr
as the team manager is definitely a step in the
right direction as well as recruiting Adam McGill
and Taylor Kiser, two of the fastest up and coming
pros in the GNCC, to be on their race team for the
2008 season.

McGill and Kiser didn’t waste any time
putting KTM on the map in GNCC ATV racing by claiming
the top two spots in the ProATV points chase after
round 2 in Washington, Georgia. Adam McGill claimed
his first ever pro race overall win with a record
six minute gap over teammate Taylor Kiser in the
second spot, which catapulted the team to the
front of the point standings and a great start
for KTM’s brand new ATV race team.
When ATVriders.com caught up with McGill &
Kiser in Florida just before the start of the
season, they were not only both very positive
about the upcoming season and their team, but
they also were confident about the performance
of the new rides for 2008. “The machines
work great. The motors are really strong and the
suspension is great. I’ve had really good
luck with it so far and really couldn’t
ask for anything more,” said Taylor, who
has been involved with KTM for a while and did
quite a bit of test riding on the prototypes when
the bikes were in development. “KTM was
down in Florida doing a lot of durability testing
and I was here, so I was kind of a shoe-in for
testing. I spent a lot of time on the bikes and
I guess KTM liked what they saw,” said Kiser
as to how he became involved with KTM.

Adam McGill’s involvement with KTM came
about in a different way. “I was doing a
photo shoot with ATV Insider and they asked me
if I wanted to go to Rhode Island to the KTM press
intro,” said Adam. “I figured it was
a good way to get my foot in the door so I went
out there and I met quite a few people. They liked
my attitude and the way I was riding. I tried
to stay in touch with them and eventually Tim
(Farr) called me and asked if I wanted to ride
for them,” McGill explained.
McGill and Kiser have both been training really
hard to ensure that they stay competitive through
the season. “I’ve been training hard
and hitting the gym a lot. I’ve actually
went from about 200 pounds down to about 174,”
said Adam. “I didn’t feel that my
performance last year was worthy of a factory
deal, so I was very surprised when Tim called
me. I feel really have a lot to prove to myself
and I want to be able to give it my all this year
and hopefully come out of it with a championship.”
