Florida Visit with Tim Farr's FRE KTM GNCC ATV
Race Team
::Continued::

Taylor
Kiser lives in Florida, which give him a
big advanatage of many of the GNCC racers
that live up north because Kiser than practice
year round |
Taylor, who lives in Florida, has an advantage when
it comes to training. “I’m able to train
all year round since the weather is nice,”
stated Kiser who hopes to finish in the top 3 this
year. “It’s really great to have the
support this year so I’m working hard and
trying to stay focused and consistent and I’m
hoping to finish this year in the top three.”
McGill has also taken advantage of the fact that
his teammate lives in such a temperate climate and
has sent quite a bit of time with Kiser. “I
really don’t like Taylor at all,” joked
Adam, who in all seriousness is quite happy to get
away from the snow and cold of West Virginia. “Actually,
I’m very pleased to have Taylor on board.
We’re the same age (20) and we get along good.
It’s great that he lives down here so I can
fly out and train with him, and he can come out
to WV and train with me as well,” Adam said.
“The terrain up where Adam lives is different
than it is down here in Florida, so it really helps
me with my training to go up to Adam’s and
ride with him so I can ride under different conditions,”
added Taylor.

Adam McGill
traveled from his home in West Virginia
to Florida for training and testing the
the KTM team, and he had nothing but great
things to say about his new KTM ride
|
Tim
Farr may be the KTM GNCC Team Manager, but
he still gets in plenty of seat time, and
I expect to see him racing this year at
various events from SuperMoto, EDT, and
even Endurocross |
McGill also holds team manager, Farr in high
regard as well. “Working with Tim is great.
He is very knowledgeable and knows what you need
to do just by looking at the bike or a dyno or
anything like that,” stated Adam. The team
has only made minimal changes to the KTM 450XC’s
that they are running. “Putting a dampener
on is probably one of the biggest changes we have
made to the quad. The KTM comes out of the box
with an anti-vibe stem and bars, nice Ohlin shocks,
a good exhaust, and Maxxis tires. It really doesn’t
need a lot of changes done to it unless you want
to throw a pair of hand guards on it or something,”
said Adam regarding the main difference between
his practice bike and his race bike.

KTM has a
huge presence on Pro Row with a huge hauler
and awning, which makes it obvious that
KTM is serious about the sport of GNCC
ATV Racing
|
Despite running the quads in a mostly stock set-up,
McGill and Kiser have kept up and beat other riders
on machines that have been highly modified. As
they have pulled off very impressive finishes
in the first two rounds of the GNCC series. In
the opening round Kiser went home with 4th place
and McGill finished in 5th. In round 2, which
saw catastrophic failures for many top competitors
due to the weather conditions, McGill took his
first ever GNCC win with Kiser standing on the
podium in 2nd place, which is only his second
time on the pro podium in the GNCC series.

Tim Farr
recruited long time friend, Pro ATV racer,
Shane Hitt, to assist him at the GNCC
races to help out with the keep track
of the racers during the race
|
Tim
Farr's mechanic Sam Shahan is also wrenching
for the team along with Baldwin Motorsports
Mark Baldwin building the engines |
With the exceptional support from KTM, and the
expert guidance of Tim Farr, the KTM team has
already shown that they are tough contenders on
the track and could quite possibly have a shot
at claiming a GNCC Pro ATV championship in their
first year as a team, which would be a major accomplishment,
but not so much a surprise, for a manufacturer
who has already developed a reputation in the
two-wheeled world as a winner.
