High Point Hummer features a fleet of H1 Hummers that are used for a bit of rock crawling and guided tours, but according to McFarland, if you really want to experience Moab, ATV and UTV tours are the way to go. “We cover a lot more ground on the ATV and UTV tours. You can basically ride them anywhere in Moab so we are able to go places that the Hummers can’t get to, and we go to some of the less accessible areas that have amazing scenery. We even do a few rock climbing excursions that are quite fun as well,” he stated.

McFarland’s business has grown tremendously in popularity and with its close proximity to Aspen and other affluent destinations; it has also become popular with some celebrities. “We recently took Ben Stiller on a tour. And Daryl Hannah is a regular here. She lives close to the area and has come here several times,” said McFarland.

McFarland’s booming business has also attracted the attention of Hollywood film makers, who utilize McFarland’s knowledge of the area to scout the best locations for filming. “We do a lot of location scouting for films. Recently we did the scouting for “127 Hours”, which the actual event happened only about two miles from one of our tour destinations. We also did scouting for the “Cowboys and Aliens” movie that was recently released and we just finished up with scouting for the remake of “The Lone Ranger”,” McFarland explained.
