Bramwell, WV (11/25/2013) - The Hatfield McCoy Trail system is one of the largest off-road trail systems in the world. It’s ever expanding trail system encompasses nine counties in Southern West Virginia and includes eight trail systems; Rockhouse, Buffalo Mountain, Bearwallow, Indian Ridge, Little Coal, Pocahontas, Pinnacle Creek, and Ivy Branch.
Open 365 days a year, the Hatfield McCoy trail system offers trails for any skill level and each trail is well marked with the level of difficulty. The trails range from easiest to most difficult. A majority of the trails are both ATV & SxS friendly. There are also many single-track trails for dirt bikes and most recently Jeep and 4x4 only trails.

One of the best times to visit the Hatfield McCoy Trail System is during the Fall. We recently got a chance to do a two day ride driving in a Kawasaki Teryx 800. While we were there, we got to experience a fresh coat of snow on top of the Autumn leaves! |
The newest addition to the Hatfield McCoy Trail system is the Ivy Branch Trail System that is nestled between the towns of Danville and Madison, West Virginia. Opened up July 13, 2013, the Ivy Branch Trail system is unique because it is first to offer Jeep and 4x4 trails along with ATV & SxS trails. There is a 2-acre lot for parking at the Ivy Branch Trail head with visitor check-in office and restrooms.
The second most recent addition is the Pocahontas trailhead is located in historic mining town of Bramwell, WV. Opened up on May 25th, 2012, the Pocahontas trail head was once home of the most Millionaires per capita during the early 20th century. Since coal mining in the area has ceased, the town of Bramwell, WV now benefits economically from the many off-road enthusiasts that stop in town to rest, eat, & refuel.

The Pocahontas trail system connects two other Trail Systems; Indian Ridge and Pinnacle Creek by way of Indian Ridge. This connection of trails has resulted in the largest continuous section of legal trails east of the Mississippi River.

One of the two trails that are connected to the Pocahontas Trail System is the Pinnacle Creek Trail System. This trail system is known for its breathtaking views and close proximity to world-class whitewater rafting at the New River Gorge National Park
. The trail system connects to two off-road friendly towns of Pineville and Mullens, WV.
