River Ranch, FL (3/9/2013) - On Sunday March 10th, the green flag will drop at the season opener of the 2013 Amsoil Grand National Cross Country Series in River Ranch, Florida.

The top cross country racers in America have spent the last few months prepping and training to take on the sand at one of the toughest tracks on the circuit. The two hour race will take place at the Westgate River Ranch for the fifth consecutive GNCC racing season opener.

Last year, four time champion, Chris Borich, kicked off his win streak at the opener with a nine second lead over the rest of the field. The defending champion hopes to earn his 60th Pro career win on Sunday.

Borich has spent his off season at his house in Ormond Beach, Florida, which is the ultimate place for pro racers to hang out. He spent his days riding motos, road biking and training with several top GNCC quad and dirt bike racers this winter.

Chris Borich now has a signature HMF Exhaust for the Suzuki LTR450 ATV

Borich’s program is similar to previous years, and he will be returning aboard his Maxxis backed Suzuki LTR450 ATV. He has changed up a few things and added HMF exhausts and IQ to his sponsor arsenal. #1 Chris Borich has been very focused for the entire off season and is looking to keep his number one plate for another year.

“I feel good, the quad feels good, I like my chances,” said Borich when asked if he thinks he’ll earn his fifth consecutive championship.

Ranked second is Am-Pro Yamaha’s Walker Fowler. The second year pro will be returning on a Yamaha, although he has changed up the rest of his program. The former Ballance Racing star made the switch to Am-Pro for the 2013 GNCC Racing season.

Fowler’s new Yamaha will be outfitted by Moto-Xperts, Lonestar, Maxxis Tires, HiPer Wheels, and Fasst Co  Flexx Bars. Fowler looks very comfortable with his new team and has spent his off season training near Okeechobee, FL.

Rumor is all that has been heard of Taylor Kiser over this offseason, but we can confirm that the number three will not be racing full time this season. Kiser, who recently married, decided that with the lack of support for racing it isn’t profitable to remain on the circuit full time. Kiser will be making a few select appearances at the GNCC’s, most likely starting with round five in Park City, KY.
