Colby & Dusty Kostman: History of C&D
Racing Service & Parts
::Continued::
|
Colby has been racing the Polaris
Outlaws with great results. “It has
been a great experience working with a company
that truly cares about consumer feedback,”
Colby Said of Polaris |
C&D
Racing also works closely with ATV manufactures
such as Polaris Industries and aftermarket parts
suppliers to help make the ATVs and parts you
buy even better. This close relationship with
these companies allows them to be up to date on
industry changes and new technology before they’re
ever released to the consumer. They have also
been working closely behind the scenes trying
to keep existing riding areas open and helping
to develop new OHV areas by serving on the board
of directors for the Nebraska Off Highway Vehicle
Association since 2001 and have been active members
of the River Valley Trail Riders in Council Bluffs,
IA since moving to the area in 2005.
C&D Racing has also made an effort to give
back to the racers by developing and facilitating
contingency programs with companies such as TI
Lube, Rekluse, Klotz, ITP and GBC Motorsports
tires. These programs were all designed to reward
ATV racers for their accomplishments while using
these companies’ products. In the future
they hope to continue to grow with these programs
and develop new ones.

C&D
Racing has always worked hard to give back
to ATV racers. They have implemented numerous
contingency program in their local XC series
& for 2009 they are facilitating the
GBC tire contingency for both GNCC &
IATVHSS Series, and they stock a full line
of GBC Tires for all types of ATVs &
riding styles |
C&D
Racing also vends at all the IATVHSS races and
other large events like the Nebraska Off Highway
Vehicle Associations spring and fall Jamboree
which is one of the largest in the nation drawing
1,600 to 2,000 participants over the two day event.
They bring products such as race fuel, kill switches,
lubricants, hand guards, tires, brake pads, grips,
cables, gloves, air filters, sparkplugs, goggles,
ect to all these events as well as provides technical
support and general repairs. You can also call
them before any race and they can deliver your
product purchase or have it shipped to you.
After getting a tour of the shop
and getting a feel for the day-to-day operations
at C&D Racing I sat down with C&D Racing’s
Colby Kostman for an in-depth look at some of
their services.
ATVriders.com:
It appears you have a descent amount of OEM &
aftermarket parts inventory on hand, but how quickly
are you able to get in parts for customers that
are not in stock?
Colby Kostman: We
try to keep the popular ATV parts on hand; you
know the stuff that sells fast or hard parts and
chemicals that we use everyday in the shop. We
sell just about everything off road related, and
if we don’t have it in stock, we can normally
have it within a day or two. We have a lot of
customers that call for some of the more specialized
things we are known for and while they are on
the phone they ask “do you guys also carry
nerf bars, or can I order a helmet from you too?”
We sell everything imaginable for ATVs, Street
bikes, Dirt bikes, Watercraft, Harley’s,
Scooters and then some. Anymore it is tough to
always be the cheapest, but most of the time,
the person that is the cheapest doesn’t
have the knowledge of the parts they are selling
and can’t help a customer when they need
technical assistance. This is just one of the
advantages to buying from us, your purchase comes
with unlimited technical support by someone that
actually uses the products we sell.

Keeping
the essentials on the shelf has always been
a priority at C&D Racing since the beginning.
Colby says “ Our customers know that
they can call at the last minute before
a riding trip and we probably have that
part they need or we can get it fast”
because they sell a full line of parts from
riding gear and casual apparel to engine
performance items like pistons and cams
