Plateau ATV Trail Ride Adventure
::Continued::
The elevation of the trails system starts at about 7,700 feet and go up to over 9,000 feet towards the southern end of Crawford Pass and Straight Canyon Loop in Bryce Canyon.
King Creek is a great place that offers camping on the National Park grounds for up to two weeks, giving you plenty of time to explore. There are a couple of hiking trails in the area, the Chimney Rock trail, which is two miles long and the Key Hole Arch trail, both of which offer great views of rock formations.

Kings Creek features a campground that one can camp for two weeks to explore the area |
For our ride, we chose the Polaris Ranger 500 and the Sportsman 500 HO and Arctic Cat 500. We started on the north side of the trails system and worked out way down to the Tropic Reservoir that gave great views of the lake. Our plan was to ride down into the valley and out to highway 89.
|
Our ride took us along the long the shores of the Tropic Reservoir |
From the lake, we got on the Badger Creek Trail that connected us to the Proctor Canyon Trail that went up to about 9,100 feet and then descended back down into the canyon, and as we headed down into Proctor Canyon the red rock turns into a grey rock, which was very different than what we were expecting, but still breathtaking none the less.
|
We stopped in at Cafe Adobe for lunch. They offered great Mexican food that hit the spot before heading back on the trails |
Once we descended the canyon we headed over to
the Café Adobe for some lunch along the
scenic route 89, and were we were more than ready
for a break, since it took us about 3.5 hours
to get there. It was well worth the trip, because
the burgers were delicious and they also offer
some great Mexican food, so we were treated to
some chips and salsa to top off a relaxing lunch
break before heading back out on the trails.
