ATV &
Snowmobile Trail Riding Moab, Utah
::Continued::
Living in California, Aspen trees are another
rarity that we rarely get to see and would never
get to blast by on ATV’s or snowmobiles.
I was really excited to get some snowmobiling
in as I’ve only done it one other time and
it was absolute blast. The 800cc Arctic Cat sleds
are eye-watering fast and the acceleration feels
like you’ve been shot from a cannon.
After our sledding time was up, the group geared
up and began to head down the mountain to shoot
the late afternoon sun shots back at the slickrock
trails. I gave the group a few minutes head start
while waiting for Brad to make some extra room
for dinner, then we took off down the snow/ice
covered road possibly charging it a little harder
than I should have. A fast high-speed controlled
slide quickly turned into an out of control slide
as I apparently ran out of talent, the quad hooked
a soft slushy spot in the ice and I got pyle driven
into the ice covered road. Brad pulled up helped
me pop my shoulder back into place, but apparently
there were other problems in that region as well.
After loading up my first ever crashed intro
vehicle onto Kent’s trailer with the snowmobiles,
Brad took off to meet the group and I got some
one on one time with Sheriff Kent Green in the
truck. While I have never been a big fan of one
on one time with the any type of Law enforcement,
Retired Moab Sheriff Kent Green and I got to spend
the next hour and a half driving down the mountain
together. Kent turned out to be a very interesting
man who is super knowledgeable about anything
in the area. He not only drove me to the ER so
they could tell me my collarbone was broken and
separated, but also waited and took me to the
pharmacy for some feel better pills.
The rest of the trip was a bit of a blur, but
to anyone that has ever wanted to go check out
Moab, I highly suggest you do it, and call on
these guys to help you really experience it.(www.highpointhummer.com)
