Phoenix, AZ (1/21/2015) - Defending Production A Champion, Lonestar / JRi’s David Flores, took his first win of the season at round one of the 2015 WORCS series at Honolulu Hills MX in Taft, CA, giving him a good start to the year.

While many racers have made big changes to their programs for 2015, David Flores has made few. “I have most of my same sponsors from last year, like JRi, Lonestar and Goldspeed. My dad has helped me out a lot this year and we built a really great ATV together. I have to thank everyone for all of their support so I can come out here and go racing,” said Flores.

Saturday’s Production A class went well for David Flores as he came off the start in second place and took over the lead quickly. Once out front, Flores pulled away from the pack and increased his lead with each lap. Flores also recorded the fastest lap of the race in lap two with a time of 09:03.475. Flores’ speed and skill gave him the first Production A win of the season. “It went great. I got a good start. I was second behind a local racer and he gave me the lead. I am really excited to finish well especially after my crash on Friday when I got a little too excited and hit a hay bale. I felt great Saturday and my Lonestar/JRi/Goldspeed Honda worked awesome. I am really happy to take the win,” said Flores.

Flores was looking forward to having the same results for the Pro-am ATV race on Sunday, but things didn’t quite go according to plan. “I had a great start and was in second. I came across to a little straight away and my front sprocket bolt broke and the sprocket just flew out. Luckily it was right where the parking lot was and thankfully there were five guys there in the pits helping me change it out. I really have to thank them for helping me get back out there. I did finish and got my points, but I am looking forward to Primm and taking the win there,” said Flores, who rounded out the top ten.

“I want to come back for the next couple of rounds and get the win so we can get that championship this year,” Flores added.
