Taft, CA (1/29/2015) - The Mystik Lubricants racing team made its 2500-mile journey to Taft, CA for the first round of WORCS. The course at Honolulu Hills MX Park provided quite a challenge to some racers with huge jumps including the 120+ft signature step up.
For #55 Tim Wyatt and #44 Mickey Thomas they felt right at home, practice and qualifying went very well. Both Mystik Lubricant drivers felt great and were confident in their Polaris 1000 RZR’s for Saturdays race. Unfortunately during prep #44 noticed a bolt to the primary clutch was broken and had no other choice than to roll the dice on race day.

Wyatt #55 would take the holeshot and charge to a 5th place finish. Wyatt said “Man this Mystik Lubricant machine was great and my GBC tires really hooked up. This is my favorite track and this race was a lot of fun for me. We have some changes to make before the next round but this was a great start to the season"

#44 Mickey Thomas would not make it far off the line before the clutch failure. This unpreventable mechanical failure ended the weekend for the #44 before the start of the race.

Thomas shared "It is never fun to pack it up after a mechanical failure before the race but we will be back and stronger than ever for Round 2!
