San Diego, CA (7/1/2015) - Reigning
Terracross Champion, Jason Luburgh, recorded a pair
of third-place finishes at the double header season
opener at Del Mar Fairgrounds in his Lonestar Racing
/ Keystone’s Polaris RZR XP 1000. The defending
Terracross Champion showed poised and consistency
throughout the event to once again take over the
Pro RZR points lead.

Racing's #1 Jason Luburgh claimed back
to back third place finishes at the Terracross
Championship double header, which has
him leaving California with the Pro RZR
points lead

Both races were held on a unique course that
included several big doubles, whoops, partially
buried tractor tire jump, and a slick concrete
section, and if the course wasn’t challenging
enough, the 4WD was disabled on all the Polaris
RZR UTVs, which added to the difficulty.
Andersin Design’s Luburgh suffered several mechanical
issues during the round one main event, including
a bent tie rod, failed power steering and a broken
axle, but despite his issues, he was able to charge
his way to a top three finish, but he really had
his work cut out for him in round two starting
at the rear of the 16 car field.

After qualifying for the second race through
the LCQ, Luburgh started on the second row 15
seconds behind the first row. He powered through
the field, making several late-race passes to
nab the last spot on the podium and take over
the points lead with back to back podium finishes.
“Through all of the wrecks and everything else
that happened, I made it up to third,” said Luburgh.
“I stayed consistent through both races and finally
found a groove with the two-wheel drive on this
track. I could pull off moves in two-wheel drive
that would flip me in four-wheel drive. I held
the hammer down. Two podiums and the points lead…I’ll
take that.”

Luburgh currently holds a one-point lead in the
title chase after a successful opening weekend
of racing at Del Mar Fairgrounds.
Luburgh will be going for a repeat performance
at the next double header weekend of racing set
for September 12-13th at Sno Barons Hay Days in
North Branch, MN, which attracts thousands of
spectators each year.
