Union, SC (4/14/2015) - Team Big Country Powersports headed into the Big Buck GNCC on Saturday with great momentum in the championship chase, but an unfortunate turn of events on the opening lap left Team Driver John Yokley sidelined for the remainder of the afternoon.
Following a great start to the 2015 GNCC Side-by-Side series with a second place finish at round one, Yokley and his passenger Jarrod McClure lined up along the front row. Yokley fired his RZR S 900 right away as he chased XC1 Pro points leader Treavis Poynter into the woods on the opening lap.

The front-runners upped the pace right away to open a gap on the rest of the field, where Yokley began setting up his pass for the lead. However, just before checking into the finish for lap one, the team noticed something was wrong.
“I was really pushing Treavis on the first lap and I was taking a great line for the lead but the car ran off the track and that’s when we realized the hub was stripped,” Yokley said. “The car was working so well up to that point and Treavis and I were able to put some good time between us and third place.”
“I couldn't have asked for a better handling machine on that fast track. We’re feeling good about our setup and looking forward to the next rounds,” Yokley added.
After two rounds, Team Big Country Powersports holds sixth place in the championship standings. The GNCC Side-by-Side Championship returns to action Saturday, May 23 in Masontown, West Virginia for the Mountaineer Run GNCC. For more information on the team, please visit www.yokleyracing.com.
