Area 51 is soup too. But since it's open it will dry out a little faster. I haven't been there in a few months. Might check it out next week.

Nice pics looks like some good trails, i wish we had some fast trails here in florida, all our trails are nothing but woops b/c of the sand we have.

Also FlewByU352's pics are from croom in brooksville florida there are tons of trails there, that spot he is at is called the sand pit, its in croom. Croom is 2600 acres of a good time :D

I am down for whenever. Hopefully the rain will leave and everything will get dried out.

I had to order some new water pump seals and such.........was wondering why my bike was running a little hot at LS last trip, damn radiator was only 3/4 full and the overflow was dry. :ermm:

You like fast trails you should go to white sulfur trails up around cave run lake. They are pretty decent and fast. And its only 5 bucks for as long as you wanna stay. But the first time we went we had no clue where to get a wrist band so we went on and rode for free, nobody was even there.

I was there is past sunday. May 24. the track is pretty bad.... there was a lot of washouts and it didnt seem like it had been re- done in a long time. their havin some races this June sometime and that is the next time they are going to re-do it

Yea in BA.......but they are pretty much gone now, they are building home's back in that area. so they cleared out most of it and filled in the pits...... was a cool place to go just hop on the quad run down the street and your there..

That's Area 51. Flat rate of $10 per person to ride for the whole day. It's at I-35 and SH51 (just W of STW about 10 miles). Has two different tracks - one is just a MX track and the other a short XC track. Both are usually very well maintained. Great for the kids and challenging for me too if I want to push myself.

LOL... thats the best I could get out of a bent tie rod and a trail fix!!! It looks really bad in that pic.

As I was looking back to make sure that my buddy's daughter was keeping up, I clipped a stump with the outside edge of my rim. I bent the outside of the rim, the inside of the rim, and made the tie rod a "U" shape. I also managed to launch myself off of the quad.

Later I bent the tie rod relatively straight and I plan on buying a new one and keeping the old one as a spare.

heres a pic right before i crashed hard. i landed on a guy and rolled several times. ended up breaking both bones in my left arm. i had a plate and 6 screws in my ankle... now i ended up doubling that up and have 2 plates and 12 screws in my arm. you can see my pants are ripped cause i had race pants and forgot them so had to use jeans again. i crashed the first moto and ripped them. first crash wasnt to bad, just kinda fell off... i was a little rusty from not riding for a long time

i had him on the corners but he was pullin on the straights. its a high speed track all 4th and 5th gear. id top out and hed pull on me. i just didnt have the gearing i wanted otherwise i think i woulda had him. went to change the gearing after practice and found out my chain was too loose!!:rolleyes: finished second unfortunately. my bikes got a 426 big bore, port & polish, xr400 cam, choke removed, 450r carb, fmf exhaust, 190 main jet, k&n intake. pulls on most 450s, but that 525 had more top end. other then that the only stock stuff on the bike is the front bumper hubs and footpegs. i just broke my wrist so im tearing her down and redoin everything with black and candy blue powdercoat.

Mak, Thanks :D I have been in a bad accident on a dirtbike in shorts and a tee-shirt, with no helmet :mad: Ripped open my back, legs, and lost all the skin on my left arm. Needless to say, I am more cautious when riding. And always were a helmet.

ya went monday dang would have been a great day to ride the weather was nice.....this weekend we will be picking up the kiddo's new car well used. he sold his tacoma and trying to make some offers on a couple you never know what he will end up with this is # 9 and he just turned 18 ---- next semi-cool weekend i am in..... semi-cool :confused:

by son bodhi use to ride the 400ex but he stepped up to the yfz
so my daughter paig was thrilled to get the 400

she had rode it many times but got alot more comfy on it after a week at little sahara Oklahoma

the old boat gave out so the trailer was modded for atv's

5 quads is about the max for the little single axle trailer
(the 1/2 ton dodge usually gets loaded down too)

I would love to get an enclosed or a toy hauler (maybe the kids will buy me one for all the toys I have bought for them ???)

its an '06 with cam, pipe, jetted and with his weight advantage
(about 120 pounds) its pretty even drag racing my ported, polished, hrc, 12.25:1 venom piston, rossier exhaust '06 450r

if I put him on my honda and I run the yfz the honda rapes it

only problem was a really bad hesitation that was fixed with a zip tie (crazy hugh?)

he out jumps me too but that has more to do with me being old and out of shape and needing to work the next week

I love it when the sand is like glass!! We just got back from LS last weekend and I am ready to go back!!! :cool:

Here is a vid of my buddy riding that he threw together. He is making one of me as well, I will post it up when he's done.

i know its not that big of a deal but again you dont have any facts..... ok next time just post up the link that is over 150 pages then i will make a new goal for us...... as u say.

normally a thread starts up and runs out 10, 30, 60 pages then dies.

i just think its pretty damn cool this one has done so well, and again i appreciate (gratitude; thankful recognition) to all that has taken part in making this what it is.... :)

thats kind of by the south entrance of LS.. if you're going in, turn right and follow the fence. its fun back there.

I really want to get video of the high banks over by the oil tanks

go out south gate hang follow the right hand fence line and when you "T" up with the next fence turn left and follow the fence

there are 8 to 10 feet burms that you can get totally horizontal, then gas it and it launches you straight into the next burm
(3rd gear can totally compress your suspension)

Have an anual family/friends week at the dunes every halloween.

Co-worker from previous job called (10 years there) and
all of my old buddies are getting together for a dune trip
the weekend before halloween (guy trip)

so I will be at the dunes oct, 23rd through nov, 2nd

-2 days to come home to pick up wife/kids and maint. quads

I should have enough ammo to add a couple pages to our thread

How did you do this weekend whit? I was going to go but was sick a little wed, thurs, and fri and didnt think being in the wind and rain would have been a good idea.

Did OK. Sat. was canceled cause of all the rain in the morning, so they tried to run a double Sunday. Got the first race in but more rain came in and they canceled the second race. Ended up 5th out of 7. A couple mistakes set me back and I couldn't catch back up with the 450's. My stock 400 just doesn't have the ponies to get down the long straight.

I have been seeing all kinds of cool jumps. What is the secret to keep from nose diving. It seems like every time I attempt a jump here around the house, even small hills I feel the quad nosing down. Scares the crap out of me. Do I need more speed, lean back, whats the deal. BTW, this is my first quad and I have had it about a month, rode it about 4 times now.

gas it a little harder right on the face of the jump. remember, while in the air throttle=nose up, brakes=nose down.
