well, here's a few pics of mine as the other day/today. i've done a lot of polishing, like the master cylinder, the pipe, the front shocks, and others, i put a d-bike kill switch on, put my uncles old pro-tapers on(which i'm gonna pc black soon). i cut about an inch off each side to get them back to the stock bar's width, and i f'ed myself big time :mad: i got a set of powermadds yesterday, and now i don't have enough room on the bars for 'em. oh well. i've still got a ways to go tho...

Very nice! What color is that frame? I know its spray paint but that looks almost too nice. My quad is taking forever! I'm thinking about sending my frame, along with parts I'm sending off my motor to get powdercoated "candy red". I hate to wait. I want the 450r together soo bad:mad:

kila banshee, its the duplicolor metalcast from walmart. they have the metallic base coat and then the red topcoat. they also have it in blue green purple etc.

m250r- i was gonna paint it silver but i decided to leave it black. i think if it was yellow there would be too much.

No it is just a frame with all the chassis componets on like a-arms, swinger, hubs, spindle, axle, wheels/tires, ect. Basically a quad w/o motor that rolls. ;)

it's just the stock piece. but I put some carbon fibe sticker on it. yeah it only a sticker.:( can't afford the real stuff.

yeah but know the holes are filled with puty. The reason it did that is cause I didn't sand it smooh enough. it felt pretty perfect before I put the stichers on, but I guess i wasn't as perferct Ias I taught it was. so know I am pretty much stuck with that. I put another company sticker on top of the holes so you can't really see them. So it's all good I guess. :D

I love how the kill switch clean the bars up. If you want a enen cleaner look, and make people pool twice at you bars do this. It's the stock start botton that I cut up to make it fit in the bar. Know there is no botton on the bars and no more wires. looks supper clean.

Are you going to get a Dynaport or Dynojet pipe for the banshee. I can't remeber the company's name. They are a good woods banshee pipe becuase they put a lot of power down low. It is a 2 into 1 design.

well im getting pretty close to being done. got my arms done and on, tie rods done and on, spindles (or knuckles) done and on. i still gotta finish my motor, get my brake problems worked out (belive im just gonna get a whole new cailper), and get my swingarm PC'ed. Im getting new wheels and tires (out with the razr2s and in with some mx tires on new stock wheels). Oh yea Josh you think itll be fair if i take my after shots of it with my new steel ramp (fmx that is) becasue its almost done me and my dad worked on it a whole day over springbreak becasue we couldnt get parts for my brakes so all is left to do on it is put the surface on :macho :D . cant wait bout the time im done with this build up ill beable to ride and will have my ramp done and be ready to break some more bones!

Its all in the hand, I've yet to get a machine that does as good of a job as someone would do by hand. There is a few machines that work well though :muscle:

man alumunium can be painted not problem. I painted my swingarm a couple times with diffrent colour. with a srpay can and it holds up really good. even with gas a brake fluid on if

Where do the wires come out of the bars at?

I made a little hole right on the inside of the bar mount and the wires come out there. I have the wires for my theter switch right there to so you don't really see anything comming out the bar. most people think I don't have a starter.:devil: The hole is really small and on the inside of the mount so there is no load on it, so it won't weaked the bar.

well your sort of right the smallest you can go with a 400ex sprocket is 36. BUT you can get a sprocket from a ATC 250R that is a 34. the bolt patern is the same cause the part number's for the 38 and 36 are the same on a 250 and the 400. So I figured that if the bolt patern was the same it would fit. so I ordered one up. the only thing you have to do to make it bolt on is that since the EX uses tapered bolts and the 250 sprocket is only normal bolts, you have to drill a tapper in the hole. ( not much work really ). The other thing is that the sprocket is so small that is won't fit over the hub like a normal size. so you have to remove the axle and put the sprocket on from the other side.

Plus as you can see with all the custom mods on my quad I like to be diffrent and not do like everybody else so I got a 34.

The 500 can push it no problem.

as you can see in the pics there is no way to get the sprocket over the hub.

i did some more pcing the other day. i did the oil tank and a few small parts in chrome, and the master cylinder cover in candy red.

prolly the only thing else i'm gonna be able to get is some graphics and some wheels and tires from a friend. i was wanting to pc the hubs, bottom aarms and swingarm, but i don't feel like taking a chance on f-ing up good bearings on a new bike :ermm: i may still polish the top aarms tho.

I noticed the tires also, I put the rims on opposite sides by accident. I polished a set of stock a arms that I sold on ebay and they looked awesome, I'd say go for it.:macho

Got the Moto front end & PEP's on today, along with getting the subframe mount on my frame welded.

I also got the T2's and all the controls together, but ran out of light AND the mesquitos were really anoying(we don't have a shop or garage)

We're gonna put the motor in tomorrow, and i'll get some more pics.

The tab broke off because the previous owner wrecked it one to many times:rolleyes:

Of course we have have had the problems they have stock, but we've done the updates and i'm going to put a Falicon crank in mine......Yeah, the Cannondales in general have there problems, but once you get them worked out, its fine

Yeah, there used. They have some surface rust and there kind of bouncy because they need to be rebuilt.

But there a hell of a lot better then the stock 16 inch shocks that came on this bike, and with those a-arms i don't have to worry about the lower ball joints:devil:

I bought two sets of shocks for 300 together and sold them on ebay for 700 together, plus my stockers for 225 so I only had to throw in a couple hundred out of my pocket to pay for the Elkas.:D

The Hipers with Holeshots , AC Pro Pegs , Tether Cord and PEP roller relocator are less than a year old . Thats all I can afford for now ... next purchase will be bars .... but that's IF I keep the quad .

Plastics only cost me 70 bucks after selling my stockers, I bought the a arms used, All my pc work(frame, subframe, swing arm, sprocket and disc hubs, bumper, grab bar) came out to 200 dollars, including shipping both ways.:eek2: The only major thing is the shocks, but those I made the money for by buyin and resellin two sets of yfz shocks and making 700 dollars. The elkas only cost me 850 and they're LT. Thats much less than the 930+ most dealers sell them for. And as you can see, I dont even have an exhaust and I'm still on stock tires, still have stock bars, rims, swing arm, etc.

Yeah my mods are more noticeable, no engine work needed here, the yfz motor pulls pretty well stock I'd say, next winter I plan on putting in a wr crank though, making it a full 449 ccs. By may 25 I might have a pipe and some beadlocks/tires, depends how much money I make from now till then.:macho

I'd save your money for t-9 bajas or stay with stock, the 190s look good but theyre actually much weaker than stock because stock rims have the rolled edge.

Yeah I'd just go with the rear beadlocks, thats what I'm doing, and rolled edge douglas rims on the front, the front dosnt need beadlocks imo and they just add weight.

well, i guess i'm out of the comp. i took a pretty bad spill on Sat, and i messed the bike and myself up pretty good. i messed up my timing on a pretty technical rhythm and i barely clipped my rear tires on the landing of a double(which was steeper that the friggin face) and i got pitched off onto the face of the next jump. i seperated my collar bone from my breast bone, and my subframe is bent up pretty bad. so i prolly won't be able to get it back together before the deadline if i have'ta replace the subframe. but hopefully it can be striaghtened and reinforced. this sucks!!!! i just bought a set of graphics too.

The Poor man build off!
I figured since alot of people who arent rich should have a build off for their own, now winner will get a little cash once I work a little over time


A before picture is needed, but if you dont have one we can work something out. Now as far as rules, they arent any really but if you cheat, I'll boot you out of the build off ASAP! If I see you have a full race ready bike with high dollar items I MAY question because this is a low budget build off.

Classes
0-300: 91cc-350cc 4 stroke/ 91-200cc 2 stroke (This class is similar to GNCC Sport Class and GNC Youth Production Class)

301-400: 351cc-449cc 4 stroke/ 201cc-350cc 2 stroke

450 UP:- 450-800cc 4 stroke/ 350cc-800cc 2 stroke (No Superbike motors)


MAKE NOTE!!!! All CC ranges are what your quad was stock! IE: If you have a Bored and stroked 500ex, you still enter the Mid-Size Class Unless you want to upgrade to the Race Inspired Class.

VOTING
There will be rounds since the surplus of people and the tiny poll limits :mad There will be 1-2 rounds depending on size for each class, the top 3 people from these rounds will duke it out in the final! Once the winner is declared you won your class and you are transfered into the final battle. The winners from all the finals will then duke it out for the mother of all bragging rights!

We got the frame stright, took awhile but its all good now, the motor is a 409 stroker, its .30 over with a 3mm or 4mm crank, I dont know to much about the motor because I only over herd my dad talking about it, its a surprise but I found out lol.

my bumper and grab bar are painted black but its hard to tell in the pic cuz the lighting is kinda bad...i used that rustoleum paint and clear coat, actually doesnt look that bad for spray paint
