Yamaha YFZ450R ATV Motocross Ride Review - Day

| We
were highly anticipating the second day of our test
ride on Yamaha’s new YFZ450R and could not
wait to put it to the test in its preferred environment,
the motocross track. We had high hopes for this
machine and once we hit the track, the YFZ450R aimed
to please at the LACR Motocross Track |

| Yamaha
made arrangements for us to test out the new Yamaha
YFZ450R at Hungry Valley just outside of Gorman,
CA. The scenic high desert terrain provided us with
miles of wide open sandy trails and steep washouts
that would challenge theYFZ450R’s power and
handling abilities on the Trails

For
2009 Polaris went well beyond bold new graphics
and responded to racers and enthusiast to make
significant changes to all their 2009 Outlaw ATV
models, and we are talking real racer / consumer

2009 Can-Am expanded its DS450 offering to include
three models with the base model DS450 along with
the DS450X XC and DS450X MX models. These two new
racing specific packages fine tune the machines
to the particular type of racing they will be used
for, so we took each of them for a test ride

2 009, Honda has expanded their Rancher lineup to
8 available models with the return of the ever popular
automatic transmission Rancher AT, which also is
first ever Rancher model available with Independent
Rear Suspension (IRS), and Electric Power Steering

2008, BRP Can-Am released the all-new DS 450 Sport
ATV, and the new DS450 was unlike any other 450
sport ATV with many brand new technologies introduced
to the sport ATV marker, so we put it to the test
in a GNCC Series race to see how well it would hold

conjunction with round 10 of the ATV Motocross Nationals,
KTM would hold a press introduction, test session
and an industry race specifically for the 2009 KTM
450SX & 505SX Models. The test sessions and
races were held at the world famous Red Bud motocross

Yamaha Raptor 250 has been successful since its
introduction, appealing to both the older youth
market and beginning adult riders. After a year

for an event to see the Raptor 250 in race action |

The
Kawasaki Brute Force 750 FI 4x4 utility ATV is
a handful, plain and simple. Its massive 749cc
V Twin injected engine puts out 50 horsepower
that will send the tires howling for traction
at the stab of the throttle in almost any conditions
you can imagine, and it now comes with Fuel Injection |

In 2008, Polaris introduced the Polaris Rzr, and
for 2009, the expanded the lineup to now include
the Rzr S, which is the high performance model.
Also, Polaris introduced the Ranger HD and many
other model upgrades for 2009, and we had a chance

Suzuki LT-Z400 hasn't changed much since its first
release besides upgraded suspension in 2005 along
with some other minor updates, but for 2009, the
Z400 has undergone some dramatic updates, which

Cat continues to improve and expand it ATV product
line, and for 2008, Arctic Cat released the all
new Arctic Cat Thunder Cat 1000 H2, 700 H1, and
the 366 Utility ATV, and we had the oppurtunity
to do a long term test on all three ATV models to
provide a test ride review

idea was to ride the 2008 Outlaw 525 IRS and 525
S in stock form during the off season, comparing
the two models against each other and against
whatever other quads might be on hand for comparison.

SnowShoe Ski Resort in West Virginia, and the

Honda TRX400EX had set the benchmark since its release
in 1999, and with the release of the new 450cc machines,
they are readily available for an affordable price,
and with a few modifications, a person could have
a race ready ATV for the fraction of the cost with
our low budget project quad.

in 2007, so for 2008 Polaris has expanded the
Outlaw lineup to include two straight axle versions
(525S & 450MXR) and both are nearly indentical

| The
CanAm DS450 Sport ATV is not a redesign of an existing
machine. The design of this quad was done from the
ground up by a group of engineers starting with
a clean slate. The result is a machine that has
more radical design changes than any ATV since they
decided to add another tire onto the three wheelers.
