The 2014 Can-Am Maverick 1000 MAX ROTAX engine also
features two driving modes. Sport mode is to be used
while driving aggressively while ECO mode is well
suited for cruising down the trails or working on
the farm or job site.

With
two driving modes, the Can-Am Maverick MAX 1000R
X rs SxS can be driven aggressively in Sport
mode & in ECO mode you can cruise the trails
& save on gas! |
With ECO mode selected, the engine provides the driver and passengers with a smoother less abrupt throttle response. Don’t get us wrong, ECO mode still packs a punch, but it allows the Can-Am Maverick 1000 MAX to get much better fuel economy – which is where Can-Am got the ECO name.

The
FOX podium shocks do a great job of soaking
up terrain for a smooth ride |
Sport mode allows the CanAm Maverick MAX SxS to perform to its full potential. The power curve is much more aggressive allowing the power to be almost instantaneous. In our opinion, the Can-Am Maverick MAX feels much like a two stroke power band with hard-hitting power readily available.

12 inch aluminum bead lock wheels wrapped around Maxxis Big Horn 2.0 tires come standard on the MAX |
Helping deliver power to the ground are 27 inch Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires. With their radial construction and 6 ply design, the Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires are the choice of many Pro SxS Racers and is one of the most popular tires on the market.
On the opposite end of things, dual 220 mm ventilated disc brakes with hydraulic twin-piston calipers on the front and dual 214 mm ventilated disc brakes with hydraulic single-piston caliper on the rear help bring the four seat Can-Am Maverick 1000 MAX to a halt. We felt the brakes did a nice job of slowing down the MAX even while they were wet!

With 101 horsepower stock, the Can-Am Maverick MAX 1000R X rs DPS had plenty of power to blaze the trail even fully loaded with four passengers |
With a true performance V-twin ROTAX engine, the Can-Am Maverick performed very well on the wooded trails and open fields in New York. Although the Maverick MAX does weigh 250 lbs more than the two seat Can-Am Maverick MAX (1,297 lbs) we felt it still had plenty of power to handle any trail we pointed it down.
