New England ATV Motocross Pro-Am Class - Round 6 - Capeway Rovers

The Pro-Am class was next up on the gate and with two extra racers the front starting stretch was a little more packed to create some equally exciting racing.

PRP / DASA / FOX’s Preston Young proved once again this weekend was his to win. Young came off the line in Pro-Am moto one with a big holeshot ahead of the rest of the pack by a few bike lengths.

Preston Young grabbed the holeshot in Pro-Am Moto 1

Young pressed on with Jon Glynn just behind him in hot pursuit. Young was able to hold off the rest of the competition for the remaining six laps and take his first win in the Pro-Am class for the day.

Preston Young was able to hold onto the lead until the finish to earn the win in Moto 1. Young would also wrap up the overall in the Pro-Am Class by winning Moto 2

Fly Racing / Fairway Farms / DWT’s Preston Young secured the second moto holeshot with ease once again and continued out onto the increasingly rough track. The rain storms had gone away for the remainder of the day but Young brought his own kind of storm to round out the day in the final moto. With the rest of the pack jockeying for position behind him, Young was free up front to do his work. By the end of the moto he had a nearly twenty second lead as he crossed the finish line sealing the deal on his 1-1 moto finishes for the day with another overall in the Pro-Am class.

J.T. Glynn Construction / DASA / Walsh’s Jon Glynn had a great showing in the Pro-Am class coming out of the holeshot in the first moto with a second place position just behind Young. Glynn pursued Young for the entire length of the moto but was unable to catch the fellow Honda mounted rider and was forced to finish in second place for moto one.

Jon Glynn NEATV-MX

Jon Glynn finished second place in Pro-Am Moto 1

834 Motorsports / Troy Lee / Hamilton Imaging’s Jon Glynn mirrored his start in the second moto as well coming out near the front of the pack. Unfortunately while battling into the first corner, Glynn got sent end-over-end after colliding with Travis Moore heading into the whoop section. Glynn was able to gather himself back up and continue the moto starting out in last place. Glynn poured on the coal and showed his determination and true grit as he throttled around the course. After getting back on track, Glynn was able to get past Hickson who had a foot peg failure and slid up into fifth place by the time the six laps were over. Glynn’s 2-5 finish resulted in a second place overall, one of his best finishes in his Pro career.
