                                Goldsboro, NC - The
7th and 8th rounds of the 2012 AMA Extreme Dirt
Track ATV Racing series would head to the beautiful
state of North Carolina for a double header weekend
of racing, and racers and fans would be greeted
with a dry weekend, but the weekend would be filled
                              with stifling heat and humidity.
Friday night’s action would see the “The
                                Bumblebee” #708 Harold Goodman claiming
the Pro ATV main event win, which clinched Goodman’s
run for the 2012 Pro ATV Championship. The #27
of Brad Riley secured the second spot on the podium
and the #338 Brian Ace would once again make a
return to the podium bringing away a 3rd place
                                finish on the evening.

                                       Hoosier's
#708 Harold Goodman grabbed the Pro ATV
holeshot followed by #038 Michael Coburn
& #53 Kirby Cooke | The track would be groomed earlier in the day
and set up for the racing action which would ensue.
The rubber was quickly laid down and lines were
formed. Rage ATV’s Harold Goodman would
tear off the line as his Hoosier tires grabbed
the sandy flat track soil and would come away
with the holeshot closely followed by Coburn,
                                Cooke, and Ace.
Harold’s run would be stopped short as
Kirby Cooke and Michael Coburn would come into
contact and a red flag would be drawn. Upon the
red-flag staggered restart, Goodman would once
again hold his own and stay in the lead. After
12 more smooth-sailing laps, Goodman would come
away with the victory and seal the deal on his
lead in the Pro Class heading into round 8 with
a 46 point gap between him and Brad Riley.

#53 Kirby Cooke sits on the side of the
track after a collison with #038 Michael
Coburn, which forced a red flag | “It feels amazing to compete with these
guys and come away with another win. I had the
Pro class pretty much wrapped up heading into
the weekend but I wanted to add another one to
the list. My Hoosier tires and Rage motor along
with the Houser components really got me off the
line really well and was able to pull the holeshots
that I wanted,” stated Goodman after the
                                race.

Goodman took off once again in the lead
from the re-start followed by #338 Brian
Ace & #038 Michael Coburn | Coming off the line in the top 5 and then blasting
his way up to the second place spot would be the
#27 of Two Se7en Motorsports’ Brad Riley.
Riley would come off the line and be pushed wide
into the first corner but would immediately put
his head down and make a hard charge towards the
front of the pack. Riley would do battle with
Michael Coburn as he worked his way up and then
would put a move on Brian Ace before the final
moments of the race to come away with a 2nd place
                                finish on the evening.

Brad Riley was on the move as he charged
his way into the 2nd spot behind #708
Harold Goodman | “These guys were moving really good tonight
and this track was eating up tires like you were
not believe. Fortunately my Maxxis tires did hold
up for the entire 20 lapper and I was able to
move through the pack. I didn’t come away
with the overall championship win like I had hoped
of doing but it was still a great season and I
stayed healthy and came away strong,” said
                                Riley afterward. |
