Glen Helen - Round Two - Race
Report - Continued
Meanwhile, Byrd regained control of the lead and
Natalie jr wasn’t knocking on Byrd’s
door anymore as he was dealing with a loose grip,
which was slowing down his charge enough to allow
Doug Gust to make the move into 2nd place and begin
closing the gap on Byrd.

Kawasaki’s Creamer and Luburgh once again
were off to slow starts with Creamer making the
charge through the pack and into the top ten while
Luburgh faded to the rear of the pack. He would
eventually pass Keith Little as he slowed to a crawl
with transmission issues after running in the top
five for first half of the race.
The biggest surprise of the Moto was Yamaha ITP Quadcross
Racer, Dustin Nelson, moving his way into 5th place
ahead of Jeremy Lawson and Pat Brown with a few seconds
separating the trio. Kory Ellis was also on the move
as he charged his way back up to eighth place behind
Brown.
Out front, Joe Byrd proved that he didn’t need
a short cut to maintain the lead over the hard charging
Gust, but in the final lap, Gust closed the gap to just
five seconds with Byrd going 1-1 for the overall win.
As Natalie Jr and Wimmer battled for the third spot,
the pair became entangled in the final corner before
the checkered flag with Natalie Jr breaking free to
claim the third spot while Wimmer was slow to get going
again, which allowed Nelson and Lawson to sneak past
him at the checkered and cost him the final spot on
the Podium, which would go to Doug Gust.

Another year and another race, but the Podium remained
the same with Byrd, Natalie Jr, and Gust going one, two,
three once again at Glen Helen, and John Natalie Jr takes
over the points lead with 79 points followed by Joe Byrd
with 73 points. Jeremy Lawson remains in the chase with
71 points with Doug Gust and Keith Little tied for fourth
place with 62 points each.
With less than one week between Round 2 in California
and Round 3 in Texas this coming weekend at Oak Hill
things should begin to get interesting especially since
a larger Pro turnout is expected in Texas with many
opting not to make the trip out West to California,
so be sure to check back this weekend for live updates.
