Michael Swift - GNCC Pro 4x4 Racer

Shelbyville, TN (3/4/2014) - Some of the biggest news to hit the GNCC Racing Series for the 2014 racing season was Michael Swift signing with Polaris to race the Polaris Scrambler and Polaris RZR XP 900

Multi-time 4x4 GNCC Champion & SCORE BAJA 1000 winner, Michael Swift, will be racing for Team UXC Racing / Polaris in the GNCC and BITD Racing Series.

We met up with Michael Swift on his family farm in Tennessee to discuss his brand new 2014 Race Program and to get his thoughts on the newly formed GNCC 4x4 Pro Class.

ATVriders.com: So Michael, you’re racing on a Polaris this year?
Michael Swift: Yeah, it’s an exciting change over for me and I’m excited to be with them and to working with Polaris and to get back out racing.

ATVriders.com: You’ve been with Can-Am for years, so this is a big deal for the switch to Polaris.
Michael Swift: Yeah it was a big deal from my side of it being with another manufacturer for eight years and decided to make the change over, which was a big decision.

Michael Swift made the switch to Polaris for the 2014 racing season. Swift will be racing on a Polaris Scrambler XP 850 in the GNCC 4x4 Pro Class, and he will also be competing in the Best in the Desert Series on a Polaris Scrambler XP 1000

ATVriders.com: This year you’re racing both the Best in the Desert series and the GNCC’s. Can you tell me about the Best in the Desert Series?
Michael Swift: Yeah you know, Don Higbee, one of our team members is kind of stationed out on the West coast and so we decided to try to make a push for Polaris and run as much as we can. We’re actually going to run in the points series for the BITD as well as the GNCC. Now GNCC is our main focus, but we still want to do the best we can at the BITD. Along with that we are going to race the SCORE series and the team is over there racing the San Felipe 250 right now. We also have one rider that is piloting the Polaris Scrambler in the TORN series as well.

ATVriders.com: That’s the other thing too. What machines are you racing for Polaris this year?
Michael Swift: We are racing the Polaris Scrambler XP 850 here at the GNCC and for the TORN, BITD and the SCORE series, we are racing a Scrambler XP 1000, they just released it.
