Chase
Snapp Interview: 2010 AMA ATV Motocross Pro-Am
Champion
::Continued::
ATVRiders.com:
As far as getting ready for the season, what
have you been doing to prepare?
Chase Snapp:
I have been doing a lot of riding. I try to
ride everyday and I have been working out a
lot. I’ve basically been training two
times harder than I did last year.

When
we visited Chase Snapp at his home in
Tulsa, Oklahoma, he had just started riding
Can-Am DS450 ATV, but he looked extremely
comfortable on his new ride |
ATVRiders.com:
You used to ride motorcycles as well: have you
been doing any cross training?
Chase Snapp:
Yes, I’ve been doing a little cross training
but the bike is pretty much parked for now and
I’m focusing on quads.

Chase
Snapp was involved in a horrible dirt
bike accident. The result was a scar on
his leg and missing index finger just
a couple weeks before the start of the
2010 ATV Motocross season |
ATVRiders.com:
Last year you were in a horrible crash on a
dirt bike and lost part of your finger. How
did that happen?
Chase Snapp: Well,
when I went down, I got stuck under the dirt
bike, and the bike was still running in gear,
and the tire was digging into my leg. I reached
down and tried to stop it and ended up getting
my finger caught in the chain. It was pretty
bad.
ATVRiders.com: You certainly made a
huge comeback from that and didn’t let
it slow you down. In fact, it looks like you
got even faster.
Chase Snapp:
It was a bit of a challenge at first since I
had to learn to do a few things differently,
but I wasn’t going to let it get the best
of me.

For 2011,
Chase Snapp is moving up to the Pro
ATV MX Class
|
ATVRiders.com:
Where do you train?
Chase
Snapp: Mostly at home. Since
I live in Oklahoma, the weather is usually ok
most of the year, so I ride on my track at home,
but the last couple weeks, it hasn’t been
that great with all the cold and snow.
ATVRiders.com: Are you a little nervous
about going into the pro class?
Chase Snapp:
I’m actually really excited. I have been
working for this my whole life and I feel like
I’m ready, and with several of the pro-am
guys making the move to pro this year, like
Joel Hetrick and Travis Moore, I have a pretty
good idea of what I’ll be up against as
far as the competition goes.
ATVRiders.com: Will Darren Thomas be your
mechanic again for this year?
Chase Snapp: Definitely!
Darren has been with me for the last three years
and I wouldn’t be where I am now without
him.

Racing Series |
ATVRiders.com:
Are you going to be racing in any other events
besides nationals?
Chase Snapp:
Yes, I’m also going to be racing in the
TQRA series, so I will have a pretty full schedule
this year.
