Chad Wienen Interview:
Can-Am / Motoworks Pro ATV >> Continued
ATVriders.com:
And when the weather turns bad where will
you be training?
Chad Wienen:
I’ll be heading down south mainly. I’ll
be in Texas and Florida. Josh (Creamer) just
bought some property down there and I’m
going to go down there and help him get his
track set up and practice there for a while.
ATVriders.com:
Is there anything you want to improve on as
far as riding technique goes?
Chad Wienen:
I definitely will be working on my starts.
That’s the one thing I will be focusing
on. If I can be in the top five off the start,
that makes things a whole lot easier.

ATVriders.com:
Will you be doing anything different in your
training program for next season?
Chad Wienen:
I’m going to be concentrating on strength
training. I want to stay at my current weight
but I also want to bulk up a little and get
stronger. My cousin is a sports trainer out
in Colorado, and I have been working with
him and he has me on a really good cardio
and strength training program that I think
is really going to help me out a lot for next
year, especially if they are going to be extending
our moto times.
ATVriders.com:
Can you elaborate a little on the extended
moto times?
Chad Wienen:
Basically what I’ve heard is that we
are going to be going to a 25 minute moto
plus two laps, so the extra conditioning and
training will help me out a lot with that
I think.
ATVriders.com:
There are also rumors that the pro quads will
be doing a couple of rounds with the bikes
next year. What do you think about that?
Chad Wienen:
I think that’s awesome! I think that
would really help bring some much deserved
recognition to our sport and maybe help bring
in some outside sponsors. We go out there
and we train just as hard as the bikes do.
I was really disappointed when the Invitational
got cancelled this year. I know the economy
had a lot to do with it, but we have all worked
hard this season and we really deserve the
opportunity to be out there. I think if our
sport can bring in some outside sponsors it
would really be beneficial and bring a lot
more attention to what we do and bring us
the recognition we deserve.
ATVriders.com:
So what is your goal for next year?
Chad Wienen:
Probably the same as everyone else: win the
championship! (laughs) But seriously, my immediate
goal is to get good starts, stay healthy,
and just go from there.
ATVriders.com:
It was great talking to you again Chad. Congrats
on your new ride and we wish you the best
for next season!
Chad Wienen:
Thanks; it’s been a pleasure.
