My
Driving Tips - Yamaha Rhino 700 SxS |

Passengers
should use the handholds |
Here are some safety tips I discovered
while driving the Rhino
• Run the headlights for improved visibility.
• Drive with your thumbs up, not wrapped
around the wheel, to avoid injury.
• Always drive with two hands at higher
speeds.
• Passengers use the handholds for improved
leverage.
• Passengers can help with picking lines
or reading terrain.
• Passengers should say if they feel
uncomfortable with a driver.
• Never drive to impress your passenger
(eliminate the “watch this” mentality).
• Study the owner’s manual, so
you’re familiar with every feature.
• Stay to the right on a two-way trail
and control your speed in blind corners.
• Don’t gas it over a blind approach
(you don’t know what’s on the
other side).
• If you’re unsure of a trail’s
condition, scout it on foot.

The
ROHVA Website |
Yamaha announced it is a founding member to
the all-new Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle
Association (ROHVA) along with its partners
Arctic Cat, BRP and Polaris. The not-for-profit
organization was established to foster safe
and responsible use of recreational off-highway
vehicles (ROVs) manufactured or distributed
in North America. ROVs (side-by-side, UTVs)
are popular and are versatile for both work
and play. Because these machines don’t
fit the traditional ATV definition, they require
their own set of standards and recommended
operational guidelines. With a multi-passenger
design, steering wheel, seat belts and four
or more non-highway tires and occupant protective
structure, ROVs are truly unique. Accredited
by the American National Standards Institute
(ANSI), ROHVA has developed equipment, configuration
and performance standards for ROVs. Find out
more at
www.rohva.org.
