The Cahuilla MX track is also known as being
a little rocky and rough in the off-road sections,
but Baron was impressed with how well the RZR
XP 900 held up and handled the rough stuff.
“I was pretty impressed. The suspension
soaked up the chop and rough areas, but I really
hope they decide to include power steering in
future models because I think it would really
help a lot and make the machine even better
and more fun to drive,” said Baron.

Since our Polaris is in stock form, one of
our biggest concerns was to have enough power
out on the track, going up against modded machines,
but even in stock form our RZR performed well.
“Actually I think with it being in stock
form, we have somewhat of an advantage because
we haven’t bolted on any parts yet to
make it heavier, so it’s nice and light
and has good power. If I was to do anything
to it, I would probably put on different tires
and do an aftermarket exhaust,” stated
Baron.

Baron
took the second fastest lap with a time
of 10:51.648 less than one second slower
than the fastest lap claimed by William
Yokley also who also was driving a Polaris
RZR XP 900 UTV |
Baron kept charging forward and had a nice
lead over his competitors, but in the last lap,
Baron ran into lap traffic. “I got hung
up behind this Rhino that was going really slow
so that allowed Yokely to close in a little
bit,” explained Baron.
Despite the lap traffic, Baron was able to
keep his lead and take it all the way to the
checkered flag for his first ever WORCS Side-by-Side
win. “First of all I have to thank Polaris
and ATVRiders.com for giving me this opportunity.
It feels great to take a win like that, especially
in a bone stock machine. I really hope I have
more opportunities to race in the Side-by-Side
classes because it’s a lot of fun and
I’m having a great time,” said Baron.
