S.A.M. (Strategic Advantage Marketing) are
also responsible for the creation of many miles
of the West Virginia Hatfield-McCoy Trail systems.
“ Just like the Hatfield- McCoy Trail
System, a series of signs will be displayed
showing the range of difficulty of each trail.
The trails will be designed for beginners to
novice” Bill Reed said. Bill has many
years experience with building trail systems
like the Mine Made Trails. Bill was one of the
first people to be put on pay roll in 1996 for
the Hatfield-McCoy Trail system in West Virginia.

Kawasaki
USA would bring in many of their ATVs
& UTVs including the Teryx RUV - The
trails at Mine Made Paradise Park were
designed with the wider UTVs & SxSs
in mind so that when they can still fit
through the tight areas |
During our stay at the Mine Made Paradise Park,
Kawasaki brought in two tractor- trailers that
would act as our base camp throughout the day.
Kawasaki had many of their side-by-side units
on hand to ride including their sporty Kawasaki
Teryx and their newly released workhorse machine
the 2010 Mule 4010 Trans4x4 Diesel.
When designing the trail system S.A.M. made
sure to cater to the side by side enthusiasts
as well. We had no trouble at all fitting both
the Kawasaki Teryx and Mule down the trails.

The
Mule 4010's Diesel Engine cranks out a
wopping 38.3 lb-ft of Torque at 2,800
rpms which helped us get up the steep
climbs at Paradise Park |
On a side note, we were quite impressed on how
the Kawasaki Mule handled the step elevation changes.
At one point along the trail, there was a long
winding trail that led up hill though the woods
for a good 100 ft.
We weren’t sure if the Mule had enough
grunt to make safely to the top. Only one media
hound had enough courage to try it.
To our excitement the Mule slowly, but surely
made it to the top with no problem. It was pretty
impressive to see a machine concur such a feat
being out of its “Farm Hand” environment.
The Mine Made Trail System is being developed
in two stages. The first stage consists of approximately
40,000 acres of trails with a total of 200 miles
of trails is to be completed and open to the
public as early as fall of 2010. The second
phase of the Mine Made Trails consist of the
addition of another 20,000 acres.
 |
The
trail system includes many wide-open fire-roads
but also some very tight, technical trails
which require much more skill to negotiate |
By spring of 2011 Mine Made Paradise Park will
have a total of 63,000 acres of trails. “The
primary focus of the Mine Made Paradise Park is
not just a trail system but an economic diversification
engine to boost the areas economy” said
Bill Reed President of Off Road Division.
The Mine Made Trail System will extend to Chestnut
Mountain, which is an economic residential and
commercial development that is settled on top
of reclaimed strip mines just like Mine Made
Paradise Park. Chestnut Mountain is a new type
of development, which will be a gateway community
to adventure tourism.
