At first we thought the suspension travel of 5.9 inches seemed a bit limited, but in practical application it seemed to work fairly well.

While
the Honda Pioneer 500 only has 5.9 inches
of travel, it still provides a fairly
smooth ride over most terrain. More suspension
travel wasn't added to the Pioneer 500
because it would have taken away from
its stability since it is just 50 inches
wide |
Another unique feature for the Pioneer 500 is that it does not have a typical bed like most UTV’s. Instead it comes equipped with a sturdy and practical rack system that holds up to a 450 pound load.

Another unique feature about the Honda Pioneer 500 is that is has a rack instead of a bed. The rack works well for tying down your load or adding accessories |
The rack offers plenty of tie-down points and you can drill it out and mount your own accessories if desired. We hauled a cooler on the rack for our lunch and drinks, and it worked out perfect.

Speaking of accessories, as always, Honda offers a full line of over 40 accessories for the Pioneer 500, including a Hard Roof, a full Poly Tip-Out Windscreen, front and rear bumpers, aluminum A-arm guards, aluminum skid plates, an under-seat storage box, plows, winches, hitches and lighting, just to name a few.
