The “How it works and what makes it tick” are included in the technical information; we were more interested in how well it works!

My opinion on it was that for the average trail guy, it will offer everything it claims and does work well. That opinion was mixed with our other test rider who can ride at a much higher level then myself. Wide open trails were tackled and he said at times he could not feel it working or that it wasn’t dampening enough.

Of course, being a Pro rider can skew the results but it does allow an insight for those who tend to go extremely fast or are looking for every advantage one can get. I think for the average person the system will be well received and the system will perform as advertised. The GNCC teams have tested this and it has been race proven so I wouldn’t take any hype as being marketing banter. 700 pound machines with a factory installed stabilizer, that’s a huge step from just a few years ago! The system is available on all Outlander XT, MAX LTD and on the Renegade X models.

Now one of the first things we all noticed when the 2010 models were unveiled were the XT-P package. This package really makes the models stand out from the standard units in the looks department and I think this will be a big plus for buyers who want the added form and function the products added to this package bring to the party.

For the Renegade 800R X XC model, beadlocks are now available along with the trick black and yellow color scheme that adds a distinct look to the model. BRP must have an inside line on cast aluminum because all of its Outlander models come equipped with stylish cast rims!

The Can Am line up has never had an issue with being under powered, and for the Outlander 650, a 7% increase in power has been pulled from the Rotax power plant. Could I feel the extra power? Not really, but they are so smooth in power delivery that it would take a heap more power to make it noticeable.

The Can-Am Outlander models have built a reputation on their powerful engines, which are more than capable of powering over nearly any type of obstacle, and for 2010, the Outlander 650 receives an addtional 7% increase in horsepower

By the numbers, the Outlander 650 now holds the most powerful engine in its class, and makes more power then any ATV below 800ccc which should provide anyone with enough snap to get the job done.
