With the new clutching system, we found the 2013 Arctic Cat Wildcat X 1000 handled better while cornering. With more abundant power available, it was easier to kick the back end loose in 2WD and power steer the Wild Cat X. We also found the 2013 Arctic Cat Wildcat X 1000 handles corners better at high speeds in 4WD. The Arctic Cat Wild Cat X’s handling was more predictable and controlled in 4WD giving us more confidence to hit corners faster.

The 2013 Arctic Cat Wild Cat X
1000 SxS is much easier to turn in the
corners due to the added throttle response
with the new Team Industries clutch system |
To help deliver the more responsive power to the ground, Arctic Cat chose to upgrade the tires on the 2013 Arctic Cat Wild Cat X SxS / UTV from Duro Tires to Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires. The Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires feature a stronger sidewall and bigger lugs, thus making the tires harder to puncture.

Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 Tires come standard
on the new 2013 Arctic Cat Wild Cat X
1000 SxS / UTV, which are a great upgrade
for added durability and performance |
The
steering in the Arctic Cat Wild Cat X
1000 SxS / UTV is effortless thanks to
Arctic Cat's Variable assist Electronic
Power Steering |
The 2013 Arctic Cat Wildcat X 1000 SxS / UTV also features Variable Assist Electronic Steering. Several times we encountered large rocks on the trail at high speeds and without the EPS just the steering wheel kickback alone would sure rip the steering wheel out of our hands. The Variable Assist Electronic Steering makes steering in the Wild Cat X 1000 SxS / UTV effortless making the ride much more enjoyable. To make things even more comfortable, the 2013 Arctic Cat Wildcat X 1000 SxS / UTV also features a tilt steering wheel that can be adjusted to fit your preferred height.

New for 2013 Arctic Cat is now using FOX Podium shocks instead of Walker Evans shocks on all Wild Cat SxS models |
For 2013 Arctic Cat also upgraded all of the Wildcat 1000 SxS / UTV models to feature long travel FOX podium shocks that have a 23 position compression adjustment, dual rate springs, remote piggyback reservoirs instead of Walker Evans shocks. The FOX podium shocks feature 18 inches of travel in the rear and 17 inches of trail in the front.
The Arctic Cat Wildcat X 1000 SxS / UTV’s tall ground clearance made it easy to navigate over large rocks along the trail. With a combination of long travel FOX podium shocks and 13 inches of ground clearance we were able to hit 2 to 3 foot whoops, and navigate rocky creek beds with ease with the gas pedal pinned to the floor.

The impressive 13 inches of ground clearance is useful when navigating over large rocks like the ones we encountered on the El Paso Sub Region trail in Randsburg, CA |
We were very impressed with power and handling of the 2013 Arctic Cat Wildcat X 1000 SxS / UTV. It was nice to see Arctic Cat fixed the lagging power issue found in previous models and added even more power to the Wild Cat SxS / UTV with the new 90+ horsepower 951cc V-Twin engine. With the added power and great long travel FOX suspension, we had a blast flying down the sandy desert trails in Randsburg, California!
