WORCS
UTV Racer, Ryan Piplic, had a chance to
ride as a passenger in the Artcic Cat
Wildcat 100 with Wally from Side X Side

We invited pro ATV racer Beau Baron, to tag
along with us again for this event, Baron has
won several races in the WORCS Series in the
Polaris RZR XP 900, so he had plenty of seat
time in the Wildcat’s closet competition.
While we were at the test ride location, we
also bumped into pro UTV racer Ryan Piplic,
who was on his way to Racetown 395 for round
eight of the WORCS series.
“I was driving
by and saw the Arctic Cat rigs and all the dust,
I had to stop and check it out,” said
Piplic. We were happy to have Piplic along for
the ride to give some extra input in addition
to Baron’s since he also races SxS vehicles

ATV
Pro Racer & UTV Racer, Beau Baron,
was once again along for the test ride
of the 2012 Arctic Cat Wildcat HO 1000
Side-by-Side press intro |
The Arctic Cat Wildcat 1000 is visually stunning,
to say the least, and looks like no other UTV
on the market. The aggressively styled machine
comes in either Arctic Cat Green metallic paint
or black metallic paint. And quite honestly,
you can’t go wrong with either color.

The suspension of the Wildcat 1000 is more
reminiscent of something you would see on an
Unlimited Buggy charging through the Baja 1000,
which gives it an impressive appearance. The
suspension offers 17 inches of travel in the
front and 18 inches in the rear, which is more
than any other stock UTV on the market. The
Walker Evans shocks are compression adjustable
only, but that isn’t an issue with this
machine. We were very pleased to find out that
the suspension performed as well as it looked
and is absolutely the most impressive aspect
of the Arctic Cat Wildcat 1000. We also noticed
that the suspension seems to have heavy duty
attachment points, which is a weak point on
many Side-by-Sides and is something you can
only get in an aftermarket kit on other brands.

The
2012 Arctic Wild Cat 1000 UTV comes stock
with Walker Evans shocks both front &
rear. The Walker Evans shocks along with
a heavy duty trailing arm & dual a-arms
up front give the Wild Cat a total of
17 inches of travel in the front &
18 inches in the rear! |
