place finish, which moved him to within
14 points of David Haagsma in the Pro SXS
Points lead |
“Consistency is coming back to me,” said Piplic.
“I had a rough patch in the first couple of races.
Now it’s just consistently on the podium. It will
be really interesting to see how this season is
going to end.”
Leaverton drove a Polaris XP1000 race and scored
the highest finish for a naturally aspirated car
in the class. He fought the dusty conditions to

Leaverton claimed his second Pro SXS Podium
finish of the season, which moved him into
the Top 10 in points |
“It always good to be up on the podium,” said
Leaverton. “It’s hard to keep up with these turbos
in a naturally aspirated car. It was really dusty
and really rough.”
Johnson, also in a naturally aspirated Polaris,

Racing's Keith Johnson finished in the 4th
spot |
“I just drove my own race and went as fast as
I could against those turbos,” said Johnson. “I
knew it was going to be interesting after starting
on the front row with Davy. I just stayed out
of trouble. After all of the stuff I’ve been through,
this is great. Ryan helped me yesterday and clutched
my car. It’s the best this car has ever been.”
Obering rolled out a brand new Yamaha YXZ 1000
with a turbo. He battled with Sierra Romo, holding
her off to finish fifth.

Performance's Jeff Obering scored a top
five finish in the Yamaha, which was a season
best finish |
“We decided to mix it up and switch over to Yamaha,”
said Obering. “We have a turbo on it and it ran
flawless. We’re still dialing in this car and
Sierra was right up on me. She bumped me to show
me she was there. I love that kind of racing.”
