Sand Hollow WORCS Pro SXS Race
Report
::Continued::
Ryan Piplic was so fast out the gate, he caught
himself on the first lap and slowed his pace to
preserve the car. He said the contact between
his car and Bradbury’s was just a racing incident.
He holds no ill will toward Bradbury and was happy
with his third podium of the season.

Travel Industries' Ryan Piplic held on to
claim the 2nd Spot on the WORCS Pro SXS
Podium |
“I got a really good jump, took off and I started
to check out,” said Piplic. “I slowed up a little
bit to try to save the car and they caught me.
About three laps to go, I tried to take the inside
and got up on two wheels. Bradbury was right behind
me and hit me from behind. It was just a racing
incident. My Polaris/Fox/Maxxis Tires/Method Wheels/Long
Travel Industries car is really good. The car
was flawless and I’m happy to walk away with a
second place.”
Sparks Racing’s David Haagsma again was running
his normally aspirated car against the higher-powered
turbos. He battled with Corbin Leaverton during
the race, and then squeezed past Bulloch three
corners from the finish to score his fifth podium
in six races.

Maxxis'
David Haagsma got off to a slow start against
the Turbos in his XP 1000, but he quickly
began to gain spots late in the race |
“The sand takes a lot of power and I knew I was
underpowered,” said Haagsma. “That was evident
when Piplic took off at the start and Bradbury
shot past me like I was standing still. I had
a great battle with Corbin Leaverton. I just squeezed
by him and then I caught lappers. Finally, on
the last lap, I was reeling in Ray Bulloch. I
got right at him and that whole half a lap we
had a battle. With three corners to go, I got
into the smoother stuff and barely got by him.
I had two more corners to block him and made it
home third. Overall it was a good day points wise.”

FOX's
David Haagsma secured the final spot on
the Pro SXS Podium to maintain his Points
lead in the class |
Ray Bulloch got caught up in a tangle at the
start. He drove his brand new Polaris hard from
there, running in the top three for much of the
race before losing the final spot on the podium
to Haagsma. Bulloch was also driving a non-turbo
car.

HCR
Racing's Ray Bulloch finished in the 4th
spot just behind David Haagsma in the WORCS
Pro SXS Class |
“Thank God I hung on at the start,” said Bulloch.
“There was definitely some banging and carnage.
I knew we would have nothing for these turbo guys
at this track, so I was hoping that they would
break. I ran a good race. This was definitely
the gnarliest track I’ve seen in WORCS. It was
short and every lap it changed.”
