WORCS Racing ATV Race Report
::Continued::
Although he is a California native and accustom to desert racing, H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron loves racing through the woods and it showed for round seven. Baron was third off the line for Sunday’s pro race and was staying close to the leaders. Baron was in full attack mode and took over second place in the second lap and was staying close to leader Robbie Mitchell.

“We came into this split lane area, and I went outside to try and pass Robbie and he went inside and pushed me out, but I stayed close and got him in the pit area,” said Baron.

Mitchell fought back, but Baron was able to pull away and by the midway point and had a commanding lead over the competition. Baron took the Pro win by almost two minutes ahead of second place.

“The track was awesome. It was a nice being up in the trees. It was a nice change of pace, and I really enjoy this technical type of riding. Doug Roll really helped us by getting us a narrower set up for this race, and my Maxxis tires really hooked up out there, and I am really stoked to take the win,” said Baron.
H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma was second off the start and was doing a good job of holding off his teammate, Beau Baron, but in the second lap, Haagsma took a different line and hit a root, which allowed Baron to slip by. Haagsma stayed close and had caught up to Robbie Mitchell, who had fallen back. “I saw Robbie had made a couple of mistakes, so I just stayed close, and when he flipped his quad, I was able to get by him,” said Haagsma.

Once in second, it was smooth sailing for Haagsma as he cruised to the second spot on the podium. “I’m not really use to racing in the woods, so I am very happy with second place. My Flexbars and Tire Blocks were amazing for this track, they really helped a lot. It was a really good weekend for us,” said Haagsma.
