WORCS Racing - Round
7 - Glen Helen - Amateur ATV Race Report
::Contnued::
The heat really took its toll on the quads this
weekend. “My Lindsey Machine Racing, Maxxis,
Elka Honda worked great on Sunday during the Pro
AM race. I had a mid pack start, raced my race
and tried to stay strong until the end,”
Johnson #1P commented after his race.

Duncan
Racing's #45 Garrin Fuller |
Garrin Fuller #45 had a mediocre start and was charging
hard when he wound up sitting behind some mid pack
riders in the endurocross section who were stuck
on obstacles. As he sat there, the frustration on
his face was obvious. After getting through the
endurocross section he put his head down and was
the hardest charger for this race coming from almost
dead last to running third for a podium position.
Unfortunately on the last lap while running third
his quad wound up overheating due to a hose clamp
failing on a radiator hose. He would end up finishing
fourth overall in Pro AM. He would like to thank
“Lenny and Loren at Duncan Racing, and Pro
rider Josh Row #3 for loaning him his boots for
the weekend,” Fuller #45 said after the race.
During the Pro AM race on Sunday two Pro racers
showed true sportsmanship when they encountered
a young Pro AM rider trapped under his quad on the
Pro down hill section. 2009 W.O.R.C.S. Pro Champion
Beau Baron #549 and current W.O.R.C.S. Champion
Josh Frederick #1 stopped in the middle of the race
on the downhill, pulled Grant Mitchell’s #32
quad off him helped him down the rest of the steep
hill to safety. Baron and Frederick are both competing
for the championship this year. They proceeded back
to their quads, started them up, maintained positions
and continued racing. This reminds racers why they
race the W.O.R.C.S. series. Racers have respect
for each other on and off the track. The Pro AM
race would continue as well.
Collins Webster #39 would have the fastest lap
time of the race of twelve minutes, four seconds
and finish almost two minutes ahead of Chase Thomas
#622 in second place. This win has special meaning
for Webster #39, who recently lost a close friend.
The last time his friend was at the racetrack
was when Webster won his last Pro AM race in Lake
Havasu City, Arizona. He dedicated this win to
Jason Vela.
