WORCS Racing - Round
5 - Clay Peaks - ATV Race Report
Jeremie Warnia Extends Points
Lead with Win, Beau Baron & Josh Frederick
Podium
Payette, Idaho - Can-Am/Motoworks’
Jeremie Warnia checked out on the competition to
take his third win of the season at round number
five of the 2011 WORCS series and was joined on
the Pro podium by MCR/Maxxis tire’s Beau Baron
in second and Can-Am/Motoworks’ Josh Frederick
in third.
This was the first time in several years that
the WORCS series has traveled to Payette, ID and
racers were treated to sunny skies and warm temps
as they left the starting gate. The favorable
conditions seemed to inspire Jeremie Warnia
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Jeremie Warnia took the
holeshot and began to pull a big lead right away
and was leading by over a minute going into lap
two. No one could touch Warnia as he kept a decent
lead through the entire race to take the win by
over 30 seconds ahead of second place. Warnia
recorded his fastest lap time in lap two with
a time of 12:21.459. With this win Warnia also
extends his points lead to 117 points, ten points
ahead of second place, Josh Frederick.

Motoworks'
Jeremie Warnia claimed his third win of
the season to extend his points lead to
10 points over 2010 champion, Josh Frederick |
“It was a fun race but I am happy I was
out front because the dust was really bad. I am
also happy to take another win and I am hoping
to win the championship,” stated Warnia.

Maxxis'
Beau Baron claimed his second straight Podium
finish with a 2nd place finish |
MCR/Maxxis Tire’s Beau Baron was in the top
five off the start and moved into third early in
the race and by the end of lap three he took over
second from teammate, David Haagsma. Baron paced
himself and was looking solid in the first half
of the race and at about the midway point, Baron
picked up the pace and began to close the gap on
Warnia, but the dust held Baron back and he ran
out of time before he was able to get close enough
to challenge for the lead, leaving him to settle
in for second place. Baron’s podium at this
round has him sitting in third in points with 94
points.

Motul's
Josh Frederick charged his way to a Podium
finish after getting stuck early in the
race |
Can-Am/Motoworks’ Josh Frederick was in
third off the line and worked up to the number
two spot, but fell to fourth in the second lap
when he made a mistake in the WORCSX section of
the track and got hung up. While Frederick was
trying to get unstuck, David Haagsma and Beau
Baron managed to get by. Frederick was able to
get back around Haagsma and he closed in on Beau
Baron, who was in second, but he could not get
close enough to make a pass in time and settled
in for a third place finish.
“I worked into second early, but then I
went into the motocross section and made a mistake
and got hung up. I was stuck for about 30 seconds
and David Haagsma and Beau Baron got by. I got
back by Haagsma, but I couldn’t catch Baron
in time. The track was really dusty and rough,
so I am happy with how I rode despite the conditions,”
said Frederick, who is currently holding don second
in the pro points chase.
