WORCS Racing - Round
5 - Clay Peaks - Amateur ATV Race Report
::CONTINUED::

Cody
Mitchell currently sits second in the Pro-Am
ATV Class Points Race |
Cody Mitchell # 83 had a decent start and would
run in the top five for most of the race. Nearing
the end of the race, many ATVs would be claimed
by the treacherous course. The race took a turn
in the last few laps when Robles # 58 burned up
his clutch moving Mitchell into fourth position.
Mitchell came around a lap later to find Noerr
# 842 sitting on the side of the track. Noerr
who had the early lead and ran most of the race
in second but, blew up his motor, “With
only a quarter of the last lap left I started
up an uphill when the motor let go. I was so upset,
this was going to be not only my best finish ever
but the first time on the podium in this class,”
exclaimed Noerr.
Noerr is already preparing for the next WORCS
Pro-Am race in Washougal, Washington. Robles and
Noerr’s misfortune would allow Mitchell
to take the checkered flag in third. Collins Webster
# 39 was fighting his way back into contention
for a podium finish, “As everyone funneled
into the off-road Blane Vadasy stalled in two
different corners causing everyone to pile up
behind him,” noted Webster. He was making
his way back to the front but, ended up falling
out of the race due to a dead battery.

Garrin
Fuller was first to cross the finish line
in the Pro-Am Class. Fuller currently sits
fifth in the Pro-Am ATV Class Points |
The finish line at the ninety minute mark was a
welcome sight for the remaining racers who were
still running. First place was claimed by Garrin
Fuller #45, second place went to Keith Johnson #
1P, and taking third place was Cody Mitchell # 83.
The Pro-Am podium would contain three of the top
five Pro-Am championship contenders. Another rider
who was happy to see the checkered flag come out
was first time Pro-Am rider Grant Mitchell # 32.
After talking to Mitchell it was easy to see he
was very upbeat about finishing the race, “Keeping
pace with the faster riders for ninety minutes was
challenging for me along with the Pro sections as
well as the W.O.R.C.S. Cross. I am looking forward
to training over the summer break so I can keep
improving. Thanks for the help from my friends,
family and sponsors,” mentioned Grant Mitchell
# 32.
