Yamaha / Quad-X Racing
- Round 5– The Ranch Race Report
::Continued::
Josh Row has been getting faster with each round
of the Quad X series and proved it at Speedworld.
Row got off to a great start in second in the
first moto and held it for one lap before his
teammate made the pass on him. Row stayed fast
and consistent and in the next lap, he moved back
into second when David Haagsma dropped back. Row
stayed fast and strong and put a nice 10 second
gap between him and third place. From there, Row
was able to cruise to the finish line for a second
place finish.

Yamaha's
#417 Josh Row finished out the day 2-2 for
2nd Overall on the Podium |
“I felt really good out there. I was able
to stay close to Dustin and pulled a nice gap between
me and the rest of the pack,” said Row.
Row didn’t get quite the start he had in the first moto as he left the
line in fourth, but Row charged hard and took
over third when David Haagsma dropped back again.
Row then chased down Jesse Goss and in the white
flag lap, he made the pass for second. Row’s
2-2 finishes gave him the second spot on the pro
podium, his best finish of the season so far.
“I had a lot of fun out there and I’m
really happy to be on the podium. This is my best
finish of the season so things couldn’t
have gone any better for us this weekend,”
said Row.

#30
Jesse Goss secured a season first Top three
finish on the Suzuki LTR 450 |
This was a good round for Suzuki mounted Jesse Goss
as he made his first ever pro podium appearance
at his home track. For the first moto, Goss was
in fourth of the start and inherited the number
three spot in the third lap. Goss put a solid gap
between himself and the rest of the pack. Goss was
able to ride his own race and ride unchallenged
all the way o the checkered flag for a third place
finish.
Moto two went even better for Goss as he grabbed
the moto two holeshot. Despite intense pressure
from Dustin Nelson, Goss was able to hold his
lead for six laps before falling back to second.
Goss held down second for one lap before Josh
Row was able to get by, but Goss had almost a
minute lead over fourth place and was able to
finish in a solid third place, giving him the
final spot on the pro podium.
Jason Fife ran two consistent motos, going 5-4
for fourth overall for the day and Evan Spooner,
who claimed 6-5 finishes rounded out the top five.
Maxxis/H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron, who
is usually a front runner in the series, was not
having a good day. Baron encountered issues in both
motos, with a fourth place finish in moto one and
an eighth place finish in moto two, he was only
able to claim sixth overall for the day.
Alaska native, Kris Sindorf, who has made the
trek for every round this season, took 7-6 finishes
for seventh overall, while Colt Brinkerhoff claimed
eighth overall.

Spark's #422 David Haagsma |
Maxxis/H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma,
who is the current pro points leader, was not
having a good day. Haagsma was looking great during
practice, and even grabbed the moto one holeshot,
but encountered issues early in both motos, putting
an end to his winning streak and points lead with
Nelson regaining the top spot in points with Haagsma's
DNF on the weekend.
In the Pro-am ranks, Canadian racer, Jamie Vanderra
claimed the moto one win and followed it up with
a second place finish in moto two, which was more
than enough to give him the top spot on the Pro-am
podium.

Canada's
#65 Jamie Vanderra secured his 3rd straight
overall win, which has him leading the Pro-Am
points race |
Tanner Gemperle battled it out for a fourth place
finish in moto one, but came back strong in moto
two; grabbing the holeshot and taking it all the
way to the checkered flag for the moto two win,
giving him second on the podium.
Can-Am’s Collins Webster was on hand as
well for this round. Webster rode a solid first
moto, as he held down second place from start
to finish. For the second moto, Webster didn’t
get the start he was looking for, but was able
to make his way up to the number four spot before
crossing the finish line, which gave him the final
spot on the Pro-am podium.
Rounds six and seven of the 2012 Yamaha Quad
X series will be a double header held at Glen
Helen Raceway on July 14th – 15th where
the pro points race will be heating up between
defending champ, Dustin Nelson and current points
leader, David Haagsma.
