at OMA ATV Nationals Mizzou XC Race
::Continued::
According to Hulsey, “Once I saw that Kyle
was broke, my main focus was to just finish the
race. I pulled over, got the radiator cleaned
out, and kept plugging away from there. When I
saw Kyle was broke, then I had to make sure I
finished. Luckily I was able to work my way back
up into second.”

Richard Stanley
of the 30+ class was on his game in Newark,
MO as he claimed 3rd place overall of
the entire event aboard his Honda ATV

Third place on the pro podium went to the Dirtworks Motorsports EVS Honda of Dan
Schaefer after Martin’s mechanical troubles.
Schaefer said “It was hot and it was fast.
It was pretty awesome.” Overheating issues
plagued Schaefer’s machine during the race.
After a long, hot day of racing Schaefer said “I
came in on the fifth or sixth lap and saw the bike
was overheating and I saw Kyle sitting back there
and I thought, I’m done. I didn’t want
to hurt my bike.”
Third place overall in the event was captured
by the 30+ Atv class Honda of Richard Stanley,
while fourth place went to the final racer to
complete ten laps of the event. Brandon Symmes
finished his tenth tour of the circuit aboard
his Yamaha after one hour, fifty four minutes,
and thirty two seconds to win the A ATV class
and take home fourth place overall at the event.
Austyn Paul rounded out the top five overall with
his A Atv class Honda, completing nine laps in
one hour, forty three minutes, and fifty three
seconds.

With an exciting day of racing and a great location, the OMA Nationals put another
round of the ten race series in the books. A huge
crowd of racers made for an interesting race with
numerous battles throughout the day. The outcome
was not predictable, and getting to the finish was
a challenge for everyone. This race combined an
interesting race course that flowed well at speed
with weather conditions that would test man (and
woman) and machine. Some of the machines were not
up to the task, while some of the racers also struggled
in the heat. At the end of the day John Pitts collected
another win and moved himself to second place in
the championship points battle, bumping Kyle Martin
back to third.

Bryan Hulsey now only holds a four point lead
on Pitts with three races remaining this year.
This championship battle is close, and should
go on to the end of the series. The racing is
good, the courses are good, and the people are
good at an OMA National event. Check out omanationals.com
for more information on the series including race
dates and venues for the final three rounds for
2010. This is offroad racing.
