Modena, NY (10/20/2014) - The season finale for the 2014 NEATV MX series was recently at AK Farms MX in upstate New York. The race weekend was headed by a pretty big rain storm on Saturday morning soaking the track in and preparing it nicely for a full weekend of racing. There were SxS and XC races held this weekend as well as part of the new NEATV XC series alongside the main event of the weekend which was the battle for the championship in both the Pro and Pro-Am classes which was battled out on the MX track.

With the Pro racers headed to the line, Preston Young, Jayden Hickson, Cody Paolella and Jon Glynn were all chomping at the bit to get to the holeshot first and lead the pack in hopes of a moto win.

Southside Polaris / Mystik Lubricants / Gravely’s Cody Paolella turned up the heat about ΒΌ of the way through the season this year and has been a front runner for the majority of the series. The Pro rookie had his work cut out for him in the first moto however, if he were going to make a run at the championship, he had to win in a big way during the Pro motos. Paolella came off the line in third place out of the holeshot behind Hickson and Young who was the holeshot winner. Paolella quickly pursued the pair and caught a break when the shock and linkage area of Hickson’s rear end broke during the first few laps of the race. This allowed Paolella to slip by and chase down Young. However, Paolella was forced to settle for a second place in this moto.

Mom & Dad / Fox Shox / FLY’s Paolella had a better second moto for himself however as he came off the line again in third place but by the second corner leading into the big whoop section, he throttled his way into the lead! From this point forward, Paolella remained on the throttle and was never contested for the lead. This allowed him to finish the day with a 2-1 finish set for first place overall on the podium.

J.T Glynn Construction / Walsh / PEP’s Jon Glynn has been a major competitor this season as well with the help a few new sponsors and friends to push him along during the year. Glynn came off the line in the first Pro moto and was able to come out in a fourth place position. Glynn then was also able to capitalize on the misfortune of Hickson’s mechanical issue and move up to third place. Glynn stayed on the gas and came away with a third place moto finish.
