BCS Performance/Can-Am rider Cody Miller had
a good first moto finishing in third. In Miller’s
second Pro-Am moto, Miller took the holeshot
but was then passed later by Creamer. Miller
ended up crashing towards the end of the second
moto when he hit a double kicker too far to
the right and went over the bars. Miller finished
the race in tenth, giving him seventh overall.
Southside Polaris’ Arizona boy, Kody
Evans went 8-8, giving him an eighth place finish.
Ninth place went to number 172, Preston Young
who went 10-7. Can-Am rider Brad Burbine went
9-9, giving him tenth overall.
Women’s class Nicole Gates had a great
day at the track. In her first moto, Gates took
second off the line and held down her position.
Gates took second in the first moto behind Larissa
Griffiths. In the second moto, Gates took the
holeshot. She was able to hold her position
and lead the entire race. “It went pretty
good, the track was pretty rough but the bike
ran well. I’m hoping to win a championship
for Can-Am,” stated Gates. Gates took
first overall in the Women’s class. Honda
rider Larissa Griffiths took first
in the first moto, and second in the second
moto, giving her second overall. Rounding out
the podium was number 103, Amy Pomery.
Can-Am rider Travis Spader showed off his speed
in the 30+ A class. Spader took the holeshot
in the first moto. He was able to gain a lead
and keep distances between him and the other
riders. Spader finished first in his first moto.
In his second moto, Spader took the holeshot
once again and was able to keep his position
locked. “The holeshot was everything,”
stated Spader. KTM rider number 15, Thomas Lombardo
was able to go 2-2 in his motos finishing second
overall. J.T. Elliot rounded out the podium
in third overall.
One of the last races of the day, Production
C 15+ saw the prior event winner Josh Suchocki
top the podium. Suchocki had an excellent day
at the track on his Suzuki LTR 450. In the first
moto, Suchocki came off the line in second but
was able to make his way into the first position,
finishing first in the first moto. In the second
moto, Suchocki took the holeshot. Suchocki held
his ground and was able to gain distance between
him and the other riders. Suchocki finished
first in the second moto, finishing first overall.
“Today went good, the first moto was a
good and dry, and the second moto was a little
wet, but we got through it. My bike ran awesome,
it was an overall good day,” commented
Suchocki. Westport, Massachusetts Jared Ledoux
also had a great day at Capeway Rovers. Ledoux
went 3-3, giving him an overall second place
finish. Rounding out the podium was Yamaha rider,
Robert Gifford who went 5-2, finishing with
a third overall.
The third round will be held at Hurricane Hills
in Clifford, PA on May 29th. A large crowd is
expected as many families enjoy the long Memorial
Day weekend at the races.
