NE EDT Brian Ace Wins
Opening Round at Oakland Valley Speedway
::Continued::
With the Pro class having some very diverse riders
from the first round, Batavia’s locals had
a big home track advantage over the normal pro’s.
It was NE EDT’s own Eric Jennings pulling
the holeshot in the first Pro heat, with Brian
Ace hot on his tail. Jennings was leading the
first four laps as Ace was putting the option
lanes to work ultimately passing Jennings for
the lead. The race was now led by Ace, followed
by Jennings and Frindt and before Jennings knew
it; Frindt was now in striking distance and worked
his way around Jennings for second place. The
first heat ended up with Brian Ace and Justin
Frindt finishing second. The second heat was locked
down from start to finish with Jason Steadman
grabbing the holeshot making it look easy with
very little pressure from Andrew Ace who finished
second.
The Pro race was about to get started and the
pro’s had one last chance to look at any
new lanes on their parade lap. With all 12 riders
across the front row and Kahrissa Bechtold as
the 30 second girl, the card was then turned sideways
and the pro’s clicked into gear and race
was on. Brian Ace made it very clear he was the
man to beat with the holeshot and an extra $150
in his pocket for the holeshot award. The field
spread out fast with Brian Ace in first, Justin
Frindt in second and Andrew Ace in third. There
was a lot of old fashion racing going on from
fourth to last for every position. At the halfway
mark, Brian Ace was way out front showing why
he’s a national pro. Justin Frindt had a
very comfortable lead over Andrew Ace while Eric
Jennings had really come through the pack from
almost last place and was now catching up to Andrew
Ace. In the last 6 laps of the race the riders
had settled into their spots and now the race
came down to the final spot on the podium. Jennings
was looking for any chance to pass a very tired
Andrew Ace. As Jennings and Ace took the white
flag, Jennings went to the outside option lane
for one last chance. As the option lane came together,
Ace and Jennings was nerf bar to nerf bar but
Ace was able to keep Jennings behind him for third.
Overall it was Brian Ace, Justin Frindt and Andrew
Ace finishing third.
