NE EDT Brian Ace Wins
Opening Round at Oakland Valley Speedway
::Continued::
Pro/Am had a great turnout with 3 qualifiers
while Andrew Ace set the mark with the fastest
heat as well as grabbed the holeshot. Big brother
Brian Ace really put the option lanes to work
while putting pressure on his brother for the
lead. After 5 laps Andrew made a mistake coming
into the infield which resulted in letting Brian
by. With Brian pulling a 4.00+ second lead on
Andrew, Andrew soon developed a very nail biting
8 lap battle with Eric Jennings. In the end, Andrew
Ace was able to hold off Jennings for the second
spot.
Pro having some heavy hitters made the day very
exciting keeping everyone on the edge of their
seat. In the first Pro heat, Brian Ace took the
winning with Andrew Ace finishing in second. The
second heat was over before it started for Eric
Jennings as he had to start from the penalty line.
Justin Frindt pulled the holeshot and pulling
away but ran into some bad luck high siding and
letting Brandon Gates by getting the win with
Eric Jennings and JT McCracken finishing third.
The Pro main was set and had all the riders
looking eager to show what they have to give in
20 hard laps. Each rider took their parade lap
for their last chance to find that smooth line.
Taylor Jennings, the 30 second girl at the age
of 4, let the riders know that the race was about
to begin. With the 30 second card sideways and
her little youth size 10 boots running off the
track, you could hear the RPMs of the thumpers
come alive.
Brian Ace grabbed the holeshot with Brandon
Gates in his shadow. Eric Jennings and Andrew
Ace were not giving an inch for the third spot.
With Brian Ace in the lead and Gates looking for
the smallest mistake from Ace, both Ace and Gates
checking out from the rest of the field until
the half way mark. Jennings made a late charge
closing up a 15 quad length gap. With 4 laps remaining
it was Ace, Gates and Jennings coming into lap
traffic as Ace was able to hold on for the win
with Brandon Gates and Eric Jennings grabbing
the final spot on the podium
