2006 MDR Rhino Bash before
the Dash
Plaster City, CA -
This year the Mojave Desert Racing association (MDR)
decided to hold a UTV race on a ¾ mile desert
track just out side of Plaster City the day before their
last race of the season. With thirteen rhinos signed
up for the event a land rush style start, seventy five
percent payback with fifty percent going to the winner,
this race was not one to miss.

#93
C&C racing edging out #41Rhino Mafia for the
Holeshot |
In the first moto, #93, C&C racing quickly grabbed
the holeshot and put a little distance on the rest of
the field. His use of smaller tires in this race would
prove to be a good choice. Second into the corner would
be the Rhino Mafia’s #41, followed by #775 and
#01 of Mason Motorsports. In fifth place at the end
of the first lap was a surprisingly stock rhino, #21
of Rhinocraft with stock suspension minus aftermarket
shocks was doing all he could to keep up with the leaders.
The rest of the pack would soon follow as they fought
for position through out the rest of the moto.

Rhinocraft |
Winning the first moto was #93 of C&C racing closely
followed by #775 of Mason Motorsports. #41, Rhino Mafia,
dropped out of the race while #56 of HRT Motorsports
was able to gain a few positions and finish just ahead
of #01 in third place.
At the start of the second moto again C&C racing
was able to pull out an early lead, but this time the
rest of the field was closely behind as #93, 775, and
56 battled back and forth the entire race for first
place. At the end of lap four, #56, HRT Motorsports,
dug deep into the rutted out corner heading towards
the finish line and rolled on to his side. Fortunately
with the distance that the top three were putting on
the rest of the field and a little momentum he was able
to upright the rhino and continue on without losing
any positions. The rest of the field would slowly drop
back, as the top three rhinos continued to push each
other even into some lap traffic.
Winning the Second moto and the overall for the “Bash
before the Dash” was #93 C&C racing who lead
every lap of both motos, followed by #775 in second,
and #56 in third.
