Martinsville, IN (8/12/2013) - The AMA MAXC Racing Series made its return to Copperhead Row MAXC in Martinsville, IN for round 6 were Walker Fowler would take the win followed closely by Taylor Kiser in second and Kevin Cunningham placing third respectively.

Located about 45 minutes southwest of Indianapolis, Indiana Copperhead Row MAXC is nestled just outside the city limits and features many elevation changes, high-speed open field sections, creek crossings, and natural terrain jumps. Although this would be the second year the AMA MAXC has raced at this location, the 7-mile track consisted of almost 60% virgin trails keeping things interesting for both racers and spectators.

With just enough rainfall on Friday night to help keep the dust to a minimum, near perfect weather conditions greeted racers Saturday morning for an exciting day of cross country racing!

The AMA MAXC Pro Class would once again prove to be one of the most entertaining and competitive classes to watch as the top five racers in the Pro Class were nose to tail competing for the number one spot for several laps.

Walker Fowler earned his third win of the season at Copperhead Row MAXC

Despite getting a mid-pack start, Walker Fowler used an early pit strategy that would prove to be the key to overtaking the lead. With Fowler's early pit stop he was able to move up from fifth to first on the fourth lap when  everyone else had to pit.

“On the third lap I kind of realized there was no were to pass so I just hurried up and pitted. I wasn’t sure if half these guys had to pit or not, but I knew I had to. It worked to my advantage and that is where I passed everybody.” Explained Lonestar Racing's Walker Fowler

Ballance Racing’s Taylor Kiser got off to a great start by grabbing the ATV Pro class Holeshot and the $100 Holeshot Award sponsored by Ptero Racing. Kiser was able to hold onto the lead until the fourth lap when most of the racers had to pit with the exception of  Walker Fowler. After the pit stop, FMF's Taylor Kiser was in second as he and Walker Fowler would battle neck-to-neck until the finish finishing just three seconds apart.
